Paul McCartney 2014 Rumors

Sounds like Elvis in the '70s.

My friend who works in the industry is saying Australia possibly in early 2015. Have heard the same from other sources on the board.

Elvis never played outside the USA because his manager, Col. Tom Parker, was an illegal alien and could not leave the country.

True.

This Australia issue has become a curious thing for me -- why in the hell won't he go back, despite indicating in at least one interview that he'd like to?
I wonder if it is just a matter of easy money in easy markets. I am not being critical, just saying, maybe it's just easier to play the USA over and over again.
I think you're right, maximum reward for little risk a known and lets face it very well worn market,if it where me i suppose i'd do the same thing.

Everyone's dream...the most amount of money for the least amount of work.

If the 2002 shows didn't sell out, and that contributed to the cancellations, I doubt he could sell out a tour now (unless the venues were really small), since it's not like concert tickets have become cheaper in the past 12 years. Well, maybe he could but Paul is probably worried that he wouldn't, so he doesn't want to put himself in that position again. If he won't even really tour Europe anymore (where he lives and where his child is based) because it's not as financially lucrative as North and South America, I don't find it so surprising that he won't travel all the way to Australia either.

Yet, The Rolling Stones just did a smashing successful tour of Europe and are coming up on a tour of Australia. Why can they but he can't?
-
Well, the Stones are a band whereas Paul is just 1/4 of the Beatles. If it makes us feel any better, Mick and Keith as solo artists could never fill out arenas or stadium the way Paul does.

I hope that makes you feel better. In the mean time, The Rolling Stones are going to tour Australia and Paul McCartney is not. Maybe he will in 2015. There is always hope. I think.

Is there a month in mind as yet? Have heard our mate Moptops mention 2015 as a possibility too.

I was told February/March but Paul doesn't tour in February, usually. Probably will happen in March. But then again, he hasn't toured in September and October since 2005! And look what we have now!

Hey man-- meant probably will happen (if it were to happen) in March. Don't know if it will, I know no more than you do.

Saw them in 2006 at the same venue. Only time I fainted during a concert lol
