Paul McCartney 2014 Rumors

Full-on America as always, and now Asia added for this tour. 64 shows! Just one in Austria, one in Poland and one in Verona, all crammed up in the same week 1,5 year ago. That's it for Europe. Not one gig in his homeland. That's not very "out there". That's what I mean with "touring properly", or not. Just like in 2010 during the 'Up & Coming'-tour, Europe got robbed.

and before 2009 it was the setlist from US Tour 2005 (Chaos & Creation) that never reached the rest f the world. I hope the disappointment that we didn't got songs like letting go, two many people, venus & mars/rockshow is not going to repeat in the case of save us, new, everybody out there and queenie eye. Should there is a new tour + new setlist Paul shouldn't kick those new songs. There are a lot others like let me roll it, something, here today, paper backwriter, eleanor rigby, all my loving... which could move in pause mode

One more US date, then the Out There USA tour is put to rest. If rumors are true, Out There Tour will end in Brazil next month. I suspect IF there is a completely new tour in 2015, the songs from NEW will be gone. MAYBE one of them will stay, kind of like Dance Tonight did for a good while.

There's a rumor Paul might have been advised to take some time off the UK after the 2012 Olympics fiasco.
What fiasco? I'm not familiar with that story.
The fiasco at the Olympics was the performance of "Hey Jude":
The video's description mentions that "THE DELAY/ECHO in the beginning of "Hey Jude" was because they (IOC) wanted Paul to lip sync/play over a backing track, but McCartney decided against it and played it completely live."I totally remember this but why would it make Paul take time off from the UK? I mean...we all saw it!

True. Could it be the pay out per show? Maybe what he can make at a European or UK show is just not enough anymore. Seems he gets in the $2 million range per show in the USA.

If that is the case then it's really a shame. Seriously. He could leave out a few truckloads of screens & equipment & do a SLIGHTLY scaled back version of the exact same show. But who knows THEIR reasoning.

I agree. I have often said if it is production costs, then scale back and play markets that can't afford the current show. Still, the Rolling Stones are having a successful tour of Australia right now. They played Albuquerque in 1997 to almost 40,000 people. Their staging is every bit as complex and expensive as Paul's. Why not play Australia? It's a mystery. I do wonder if perception is the problem. Maybe his handler's reason that in 2002 since ticket sales in Australia were slow, it would just look bad to even risk that again. It that's the case, it's a shame.

Paul got pretty bad publicity and reviews from the Olympics fiasco and taking a few years off the UK market to create demand might have been the decision taken by management. Regarding Australia, perhaps with bad ticket sales in 2002 leading to cancellation promoters there do not want to take the risk of losing money bringing Paul there. Remember it's not just about Paul's management deciding where Paul should go. There has to be an offer from a promoter to take him there!

I certainly remember the outcry over the jubilee and Olympics performances the jubilee was fairly poor in fairness he clearly wasn't well,i still can hear his strange voice on a TV interview prior to it and thought he should not be doing this, the outcry on twitter and certain websites/papers was harsh to say the least, the Olympics was a technical boo boo nothing more he sounded pretty good that night, but since then he just hasn't been near the UK tour wise,he has to have been warned off this market surely given his regularity in the years prior to this. I dont think it even comes down to money,American tours pays the bills that's clear anywhere else come on the back of those tours so surely if the reason is the money isnt forthcoming from Europe for whatever reason scale the show right back, take it to small venues and watch people fight over tickets, tailor it to the market. As for Australia i dont think he will ever tour there again
