I'm not sure what people are talking about. Every show this summer has been a sellout. Billboard is the most credible outlet there is when it comes to reporting box scores. They do it for everybody, and have no incentive to spin the numbers in the artist's favor. When it comes to counting every ticket sold and every dollar made, they are incredibly accurate, regardless of what local newspaper reporters wrote.
Pittsburgh didn't sell out. I don't care what billboard or anyone else said, they were still releasing tickets as the doors opened and there were gaps, note: VERY minor gaps, in the seating that evening. This is the over-saturation I spoke of. Paul was JUST there with TWO nights four years ago and had no problem selling them both out. This year he almost sold one night out.
As has already been pointed out, the promoter often releases a few hundred tickets for sale on the day of the show. They did the same thing for San Francisco and others. This has occurred for every McCartney tour that I can remember. Billboard only reports the number of tickets sold, not the number of people who walked through the gates. Like any other large scale event, I'm sure not every single person who owned a ticket ended up attending.

Number of tickets sold means nothing to me, and I don't see why it would to anyone except Paul McCartney and everyone on his payroll! :

The number of tickets released that would have been for VIP or any other reason is negligible. One thing that sometimes happens is when the staging is finally in place, it is realized some seats that were thought to be obstructed view may not be, and so are put on sale to the general public. It can be difficult to gauge what a true sell out is any more. If ticket agencies are purchasing huge blocks of tickets but can't move them, then yes, technically those tickets "sold" but the public did not buy them. McCartney can draw a crowd! There is no doubting that!

More info on a possible concert in Argentina in november, at the Parque Nacional Talampaya, which is a UNESCO "World Heritage" site: http://www.impactorioja.com.ar/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3341:el-ex-beatle-paul-mccartney-daria-un-recital-en-talampaya-para-el-mes-de-diciembre And according to this link, at least one stadium in Brazil (called "Allianz Parque", in São Paulo) has already been inspected by Paul's team. It's a new 55,000-seat stadium that will be inaugurated next month. The article says that Paul's concert will "almost certain" happen in late november: http://vejasp.abril.com.br/materia/palmeiras-centenario-curiosidades-estadio

Well, none of this should mean anything to anyone. We're just chatting on a message board, after all.

You're lucky if these rumours come true, Carlos. I'm just asking what about Europe, Paul?

Come to Buenos Aires for the concerts. If you have Euros you're like a king in here because of the black market exchange rate.

Would love to but can't afford it...otherwise I would have gone to the US concerts too.

It's interesting that he is planning South America for November, rather than rescheduling the Japan/Korea shows. Hasn't Paul normally played South America in the spring? So I wonder if he is doing SA this fall, so that he can reschedule Japan for early 2015 and then add Australia while he's there? This is all just me overthinking this, I have no knowledge or info of any kind.

I think Paul should just move here. There is an apartment for sale next to mine.

The upcoming Wings remasters have just been postponed from september to november, due to production issues. Coincidence? http://www.examiner.com/article/paul-mccartney-delays-release-of-latest-reissues-until-november

Rumors are spreading about Buenos Aires, São Paulo and Brasília: http://www.mutis.cl/noticias/como-en-casa-paul-mccartney-volveria-a-sudamerica-en-noviembre/

He played in Brazil and Argentina in november 2010, and it seems it's going to happen that way this year too, according to the latest rumors. In fact, he returned 6 months later (May 2011, in Rio de Janeiro), and there is speculation of another concert there in April/May 2015, but this time it would be at the Maracanã Stadium (where he got his 1990 Guinness record of 184,000 fans). Sometimes these concerts go through months (even years) of negotiations, so perhaps the deals for november were already being discussed back in May, when he fell ill. He was forced to postpone the Asian shows and maybe he did not want to postpone the november shows that were already being negotiated in South America as well? So he's keeping these dates (if they are confirmed) and then will announce Asia. Just a theory.
