Paul McCartney 2014 Rumors
-
Be cool if he plays in Peru again. Seems an exotic venue. Bob Dylan will play Athens in June...be cool if Paul would play Athens, is it not large and lucrative enough for him? Is it too dinky or something.
-
From what I have read so far, it seems negotiations are happening in Uruguay, Peru and Ecuador, with the possibility of Chile being added. Apparently those in charge of the stadiums in Brazil are trying to avoid them being used for rock concerts from March onwards because of the Soccer World Cup in June/July, so I don't think Paul will have anywhere available here to play. Besides, he began his current tour here last year and all other South American countries were left out, so it would make sense to skip Brazil this time.
-
Good news to hear that the promotors have been securing South American dates. Could Brazil still be a possibly? Or is that not something that would work without a stadium?(too much demand to consider a different venue?). I can't seem to get pm.com to load properly, so maybe they are changing the website to update tour info(either that my computer system is outdated).

pood for paul:
My one wish for the 2014 tour: PLEASE GET RID OF THE RISING PLATFORM.
-
Can Paul's tour organisers please please PLEASE secure a decent amount of dates in Europe? The UK hasn't even seen his Out There show yet. And if it's Out There continued it would make sense to visit places who haven't seen the show yet.
-
I wonder if it will even be the same tour? Is this the OUT THERE tour 2014? Or a completely different one?
-
In Brazil, there is a new, modern and large (up to more than 60,000 people) stadium that is NOT used at the Soccer World Cup: Grêmio Arena Soccer Stadium, in Porto Alegre City! http://arenapoa.com.br/a-arena

Update: two concerts are now being negotiated in Chile! http://showbiz.publimetro.cl/paul-mccartney-podria-volver-a-chile-a-tres-anos-de-su-ultima-visita/showbiz/2014-02-20/100803.html Apparently this time Paul wants to perform in smaller venues, some of them closed arenas for 10,000 to 20,000 people, in order to create a more intimate concert, very different from the 50,000 people "stadium tours" of previous years. These are the rumoured dates so far: Montevideo - April 19 Santiago - April 20-23 (two concerts, probably April 21-22 or 22-23) Lima - April 25 Quito - April 28
-
That gives hope that the setlist will be different. Hopefully more NEW material anyway

That's cool! I hope McCartney mixes up venue sizes! A balanced mix of stadiums and arenas is a great idea, like he did in 2013. Now, if someone could convince him to throw in a few small theaters or secret club appearances!!

It seems he has chosen venues in Peru and Chile that are different from the ones he performed at in 2011. He's never been to Ecuador, so that's a new venue for him as well. Only in Uruguay his people are negotiating a concert at same the stadium of his 2012 concert. I guess the options are limited there.

Here we go again!

Being that Paul's two previous tours, "Up and Coming" and "On The Run" each ran about a year and a half, and "Out There" began only 9 months ago, my guess is that the South American leg will be called "Out There".

Mmm..he will reinstate Hope Of Deliverance again. :

If you take a closer look at the video posted on Paul's youtube channel of the Paul+Ringo rehearsal for the Grammys and the Beatles Tribute, you will notice a handwritten setlist that includes "Hope Of Deliverance". It seems Ringo played drums on that song during the rehearsal. I wonder why it was included?

It means that Paul will be returning to South America.

Yeah, Paul was probably holding a tour rehearsal that day, and they just had Ringo come by to straighten things up for the Grammys.
