Portland, Oregon - Moda Center - April 15th - ARCHIVE

it was an awesome show, a few surprises , The Band was SO Hot. They DO get better EVERYTIME...people singing a long with every song (yes, even the Rihana and Kanye one)
-
Peter Buck, Scott McCaughey, and Alejandro Escovedo sat together in my section. I really miss the mighty R.E.M. A Hard Days Night, Danger, and Letting Go are most welcome, as is Love Me Do (its arrangement and that of You Won't See Me were dandy). I would certainly appreciate Beware My Love someday! Thanks for not resurrecting P.S. Love Me Do. Abe is a force helping out on vox.

CONCERT REVIEW 4/16/16: Thanks for the flags at the end! I jumped up to salute, cross my heart and do a jig with maximum relief the pyrotechnics did not stop our hearts! This was interrupted by my 16-year-old son who yanked me down into my chair by the sleeve...he knows I am a hippie...yet he let me know last night and this morning he was so happy he got to attend this, and I hope he has many happy memories of it for many long years. He wanted to chat with me about the dorian and mixolydian modes he was hearing and I just shook my head at him to wait because it is all for the music... Thank you for popping into Portland, Oregon...as you can see Oregonians are alive and well here welcoming many people to our hip little town...and if the economy seems wonky in this shakey election year all the more reason to drop some dime for a lot of music therapy! Thank you ambassadors for peace!

Silly question... But was there confetti? I know it's silly, but I enjoy that as I randomly find confetti months after the shows! ð???
No And not silly! I was bummed.

I wonder why they aren't doing the confetti anymore!

With the pyrotechnics I saw, confetti would have made for an incendiary kind of situation.

Great show! Had 7th row, which was just unbelievable to be that close to him!

Enjoy! The soundcheck photos are "meh", but lots of good show pics. Over 350 from the third row! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10207630938524489.1073741843.1622075227&type=1&l=e52af3ac60

The confetti was at the very end of the concert, right when Paul leaves the stage. No confetti was ever dropped during Live and Let Die.

Did you all see the instagram photo macca put out there of the proposal? https://www.instagram.com/paulmccartney/ Look for the guy on his knee with the huge smile on his face LOL.

The Portland show was great. I really hope a DVD is released of this show. The production was wonderful.
-
I would not expect a DVD of this tour, any more than one of OUT THERE. I watched videos of Portland and Fresno, he is having a good time. But his voice is not what it used to be. No criticism. Good Evening NY IS the DVD for this tour. Buy that. He already dropped Eight Days A Week and Another Girl, and no DVD of that show. Why would he put one out of this concert? I know it is exciting to be at these shows, but at this point, these concerts are to be consumed by concert goers, and not DVD or CD consumers. That is what Pure McCartney is for.

Did anyone ever post the Soundcheck setlist fro m Portland?

I read far too into things at times... but I can't help but wonder if that's his sign of it being the end of bigtime touring? He's been doing the confetti since 02! lol
