FLEETWOOD MAC - ON WITH THE SHOW
-
Still buzzing from a great concert by the classic 70's line-up of Fleetwood Mac - Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Stevie Nicks, and Lindsey Buckingham - last night at Honda Center in Anaheim CA. It was an epic 2 1/2 hour show, and they blew the roof off the place! The MAC is back and better than ever! Anyone else like Fleetwood Mac or seen this concert?
-
I saw them in 1976 with The Eagles as their opening act!!
-
The only album I have is Tango In The Night ... don't really like it.
-
Seeing them in June when they finally hit the UK,they where good a couple of years ago but with Christine back they have to be that much better surely

Put it this way...1/3 of the songs in this concert are hers, and they haven't been played live for 16 years. So yes, they are much better for having her return.
-
Agreed she such an important part of the band perhaps the most important part

I saw them twice back then also, around '72 before Buckingham and Nicks joined and the Tusk Tour in '79. They are much better now!

Hi Nancy R! We both knew Mike Love from THE BEACH BOYS, I also knew the late Dennis Wilson very well! Through Denny, I met FLEETWOOD MAC. As you know, Denny dated Christine McVie!
-
I saw them without Christine McVie. You could tell something was missing, but Lindsey Buckingham did a great job.

That would be a great night. The sooner someone invents a time machine, the better.
-
So Fleetwood Mac members still have their chops? "Even better now," Randy said. Impressive

My bf is the world's biggest Stevie Nicks fan, and he loves all the Fleetwood Mac stuff, too. This recent tour seems to have a little extra zest, although Lindsay and Christine's voices are a far cry from what they used to be. For Stevie Nicks fans, though -- this tour is bad timing: Her latest album just hit the Top Ten, yet she's on the road doing yet another Fleetwood Mac tour.
-
Stevie Nicks' latest album just hit the top ten"--impressive, for a "vintage" artist. I read in RollingStone mag Marianne Faithfull's latest cd "Give My Love to London" garnered three and a half stars from them, and Leonard Cohen's latest album got four stars, I believe, and he's 80. Jackson Browne's new album also rated highly with them. All that should further inspire Macca. It's too bad "Lindsay and Christine's (singing) a far cry from how it used to be"--they must still be hitting the booze and ciggies all these years rather than try to preserve their "instrument."

I heard that Christine still sounds great - for a 71 year old. Lindsey's voice was going downhill during the Say You Will Tour, and that was 10 years ago.

Stevie Nicks graces the cover of the most recent "Rolling Stone" mag Have gone through periods when I didn't like her singing voice much at all. Other times, her singing has a great real "rock" feel to me. Some of her songs seem rather special.

She's fantastic! A true rock icon. And look at that cover. She's 66 years young! I liked her comments about being in a relationship with nobody. I could relate to that. As for performance, I'll just say, when the first chords of Rhiannon rang out through Honda Center, it was completely electrifying! As good a rock moment as you could have!

I have admired Stevie Nicks always, for so many different reasons. Here is another reason I admire her. She has regrets about her decisions and is not afraid to share her feelings:
-
My stepsister named her daughter after the song Rhiannon. "Stevie" originates from the word Stephanos which means "A Crown"...She might just be the queen of the magical mystery tour.
-
I saw them in Fort Lauderdale in December as part of the On With the Show tour....fantastic, rounded out what was probably my favorite concert year in recent memory (started with Billy Joel in January 2014 and included James Taylor, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Morrissey in between). Stevie Nicks was amazing.
