The EXORCIST Soundtrack - 'Tubular Bells' (hauntingly beautiful somehow)
this movie is a nightmaire,i couldnt sleep when i first saw this movie,i'm scared like s**t with these movies,i was afraid of satan since 12 years old .I canT understand why people like thrillers,i prefere TO watch a comedy and laught, thrillers are scaring.
Herc you made me laugh out loud!..(sorry!) not making fun ...I can appreciate what you're saying here tho'. I'm a very sensory person.. I can pick up vibes VERY strongly, and when I saw this movie for the first time in a theatre in New York, I literally had to leave half-way through the picture..the evil presence emitted from the film was so incredibly strong and unsettling. So, you're not alone---I only posted that song cause I do find the melody quite intriguing --totally aside from the film that is.
yes if you are a 15 years old kid and you are watching the movie in the night you cant sleep,i went to sleep with my dad that night i couldnt,i was afraid even him.The exorcist couldnt do anything to that little girl, yes i am a man and i am a chicken,i couldnt help it,what was wrong with that girl, yes she is an actor but really i wouldnt talk to her cause i am a big chicken .Hey people dont release movies like these and scare people, give me snowwhite anyday,do you want to be scared i dont want to be scared

George finally (just teasin' ya, George) came up with a corker, with this subject. It's a respite from rock music, which is utterly fab, but it's nice to get a change. Maybe this'll get us in the mood for Paul's rather mysterious promised "standards" cd This makes me long to get to see Turner Classic Movies again, though, to have t.v. and cablevision again...I'll get to, someday

No, I'm Dutch. I remember this song from the movie The Cheap Detective.

Has anyone seen "Once"? It's a brilliant Irish film made on a tiny budget, with beautiful songs from Glen Hansard (of The Frames) who acts in it. Beautiful film and soundtrack. Brings a tear to my eye every time:

Hey Suze...I know you wanted to get this thread going again since we had so much fun with it, so I happened on this great guitar instrumental version of the WIZARD OF OZ song just the other day that I thought was lovely, so here you go ... Tommy Emmanual - SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW
-
Sounds lovely, Claudie I must come up with something too. "One" is a wonderful film with some great music, Wobble I've got that DVD. A great thing about that flick too is you're inspired to write songs yourself. To try to write more songs

Possibly the greatest movie ever!

Smog - Vessel in Vain from this beautiful opening scene to the brilliant but rather grisly "Dead Man's Shoes".
Quite a different film from "Jungle Book", actually!! -
I bought a new book on Steve McQueen and it made me wish to pull this thread back up to the top. McQueen's childhood and adolescence were heart-breakingly sad...wonder if that fed into his excellent acting, later. Paul guitarist Brian Ray recently said he feels the greatest art stems from anguish, from dark things.

I finished the McQueen bio. He lost me when it described him tying his wife to a chair and hitting her, although he used the excuse he was on drugs and drunk at the time. He was hedonistic and a sex addict, but in fairness he did have something, on screen, something to accurately label him "movie star." He made the studios make Ibsen's "Enemy of the People" play into a movie starring him, and tried to get another heavyweight intellectual venture made but failed. He said he was tired of making insignificant action films. That part rather amazed me, considering his lack of formal education and his hobbies and proclivities and background. McQueen had the chance to be the Sundance Kid, was wanted by Paul Newman, and turned it down! We all probably (or most of us) know what that movie "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" did for Robert Redford. And for Paul Newman, although Newman was already red hot. I love classic movies and it's difficult not having cable now to see them on TCM.

Same here Jon. Wonderful film but disappointed that the soundtrack album didn't include the soundtrack performances!! Currently i'm listening to Alexandre Desplat's beautiful score for the film Afterwards. But thats wholly (orchestral/piano) instrumental, no songs.

The soundtrack to "Run Fatboy Run" must be pretty much dynamite. It's a British sort of screwball romantic comedy, starring Simon Pegg and Thandie Newton. Got it on DVD and have seen it just once but noticed a smashing score which showcases what's probably newish Brit rock bands. The instrumental music interludes sound lovely, too.

Saw this online just last night and went : It's called "Niggas in Paris At Midnight" and is by Jay Z and Kanye West. A mash up of them rapping and Woody Allen's oscar nominated movie "Midnight in Paris." Kind of amusing. http://t.co/bzd5vp5F

The soundtrack to the film 'Glory' is very powerful and moving as is 'Braveheart'.
