Very true johnnymain! Was there also a case on "Bring It On Home" and "The Lemon Song?"

I believe that was the case, yes. Page and Plant have admitted to "borrowing" stuff before but as Plant once said, "You only get caught when it's successful!".

How are you johnnymain? In my opinion, the mighty Zeppelin may have stolen a lot of songs from other artists but they made them better! I'm surprised that numerous guitarists from Rock's glorious past hasn't sued Jimmy Page for stealing their rifts! Maybe its because Jimmy is still a great guitarist!!! I have read somewhere on the internet that the late Randy Wolfe A.K.A. Randy California learned how to play the guitar from some of Rock's all-time greatest guitarists! One of them was the late great Jimi Hendrix! It was so sad reading how Randy died on that fateful day of 2 January 1997 while vacationing off the coast of Malokai, Hawaii. Evidently, the water's were so strong that he barely saved his 12 year old son Quinn's life. Saving Quinn's life, he couldn't save his.

Yeah, I'm good thanks. I bet Jimmy Page's glad no-one else has sued him! Real shame about Randy's death too but not sure if this court case is all about money from the family's point of view. Randy had decades to file the suit when he was alive but didn't - you have to ask yourself why didn't he if he suspected it was plagiarism?

In his book, Chronicles, Bob Dylan admits to liking Johnny Rivers' version of Positively 4th Street better than his own. Rivers' Anthology album is a great compilation.

I own Johnny Rivers' collection too, great resume of songs!!

          I have this album...Great Sound!

          Peace On Earth To Everyone

          Peace On Earth Today Someday

          As Love And Understanding Grow

Peace Will Come To Stay...Some Day

Inner and Outer Peace... to US ALL!!!

Where does inspiration or mild similarity end and plagiarism start? When I listen to My Sweet Lord and He's So Fine, they sound like 2 distinctly good and different songs to me. Taurus and Stairway To Heaven the same.

John Lennon said George Harrison walked right into that one, and knew what he was doing. Said he could have changed one or two chords and got away with it. Then he went on to say that in rock and roll everybody steals from everybody else. Sounds like the same situation here. There was apparently enough similarity for the judge to allow a trial.

"Stairway To Heaven" is basically a love song to Lucifer. Play it backwards, kiddies.

Funny...If you play Thank You backwards...you can hear them clearly saying that, "The Devil Is A Dimwit"

Lucifer loved "Stairway To Heaven" as a love song until he heard the lyric "Heaven!" Lucifer doesn't want anything to do with Heaven! Now Lucifer loves the AC/DC anthem "Highway To Hell," Lucifer even knows who's going to be on the Highway To Hell and who's not!

It appears that there wasn't enough similarity to warrant the suit. Zeppelin was ruled in favor of.
