One thing it means is that "Something" is probably still with us, or else he wouldn't be sound checking the uke ... unless he plays something else on it, of course.
Valid point.

Ram on? I wouldn't expect new tunes to show up in soundcheck. Bet he wants them to be a surprise. Didn't soundcheck Kite, EDAW, before the Out there tour did he?

Won't be long now 'till curiousity about the set list of this concert is resolved. All will be revealed But there's no doubt the show will be a joy divine
It will be the standard setlist with a couple of changes at most. I truly doubt changes will be something to get really excited about IMO. Actually, I will be more interested in how good his voice is at this show.
______________________________________________________ Yankeefan,i Couldn't agree with you more. If Paul was serious about significant additions/changes he would have been spending a good amount of time with his Band over the last month or two and I have heard nothing about that. I know that he doesn't believe in over practicing but I still believe that significant changes would require time and a strong commitment. That being said, I will be thrilled if he has 3 or 4 additions and hopefully from the Solo side. After all, he does have "Pure McCartney" being released in June. Like you, I'm more concerned that his voice is in relatively good shape. PS. This morning I see that Macca has just announced the Philadelphia show at Citizen's Bank Park. Not too far from you and it is a beautiful park. Might not be a bad idea for you to consider! I am snow birding between Florida and New Jersey (southern part) and will already be heading North so I am definitely planning on being there.
BJ - I would rather go to Citizen's Bank Park to see Phillie baseball game now than McCartney concert. I said several years ago I was done with spending money on his concerts unless his setlist had major change which included songs I have mentioned to you and others over the years. The last time I saw him was 2010 in Charlotte NC and the only reason I went again was my daughters wanted to see him and I wanted to share that experience with them.It was literally a 15 minute drive from my house and we got the "cheap" seats. To be honest, I look forward to hearing about him recording new music more than hearing about his never ending touring. I truly hope he does make some decent changes because if he plays Metlife Stadium and does the same old show the NY media will rip into him.
Yankeefan, I understand your feelings exactly. I might not attend myself after tonight if I see the same old, same old with little to no change If I do end up going , it would strictly be for sentimental reasons. Except for the last show 2014, My sister and I have gone to all of Paul's Philly shows since the Flowers in the Dirt tour (1989 tour I believe). We only missed the last show (2014) because of our Father's illness and being with him in Florida. She might really want me to go with her this year since we did miss that last show and at almost 74, it might be his last one ever in Philly. My sister is more of a casual fan so it is more about us going together than the setlist. I'm more like you...a diehard Macca fan that loves so many of his Post Beatles songs and frankly getting tired of the same Beatle songs. The fact of the matter is that the 2014 show offered very little to the real fans since Paul was going back to the same Beatle songs that we have already heard (besides the 8-10 signature songs he always does) The last show I did attend was in 2011 and I loved that show because he did have healthy changes to the setlist from 2005. They primarily included songs from Wings and the Beatles I had never seen before (1985, Letting Go, Rock Show, Two of Us, I've Just Seen a Face, I'm Looking Through You, And I Love Her plus a couple more I don't remember). Same thing with the show before 2011. Think it was the Chaos tour. Again, a bunch of songs on that tour I had never heard live before. As we know, he now is at the point where he is scraping the bottom of the barrel. I will see what tonight's setlist brings. I'm not hopeful as I said. We have gone over this time and time, but the "numbers" people who control Paul (or even Paul himself) have committed to doing the Beatle songs and big hit Wings songs that will appeal to the casual fans (boomers and their own kids basically). In their mind, that is what is needed to keep the stadiums and or arenas filled.
BJ - He can play his mostly Beatle/Wings set but just give somebody like me 7-8 songs that he has never played from his solo career and I would love to attend a show. See below for example. 1) Take It Away 2) Little Willow 3) Promise To You Girl 4) Dance Til We're High 5) That Was Me 6) Early Days 7) Dear Boy About You or Magic

Whoops! You're right. I'm only 40 but I'm having a "senior moment". Don't mind me!

Notice that "Every Night" is songs 8 and 10--maybe it's back in setlist rotation?
Perhaps....

He's played "That Was Me" live before. There are two different live recordings that were both floating around iTunes at one point.

Yes. I saw it at the Electric Proms in 2007 (London), and I think he also played it at the Electric Ballroom (London again) earlier in 2007; not sure if it was played at the NY show that year, either.

Yes, it was played at all of the MAF promotional shows (U.K., N.Y., and L.A.).

Showtime or Paultime? Show should be starting right about now, but probably another 30-40 min. for Paultime. Unless he's surprises us.
