I'm excited as I've never seen him live before! Was able to get some tickets yesterday during a pre sale. Apparently this will be the first time he's been back here in almost 40 years.

Yep! Lots of concerts in DC...but this is the first time since making it as a "big shot" that he's played our fair city! Out of curiosity...what pre-sale were you already partaking in?

Out here they had an S.F. Giants pre-sale on Wednesday since he's playing AT&T Park. I was sent the info the day before it went on sale from the promoter Another Planet since I had purchased Paul tickets the past two years, so I was on their mailing list. Another Planet is also doing Billy's concert here.

Saw him last night in Miami. Great show as always. However the highlight and most unexpected surprise was him breaking out into a full on version of A Hard Day's Night in the middle of River of Dreams. In looking at previous setlists it looks like he always plays a different song in the middle of ROD as an interlude but from what I can tell, AHDN is fairly rare for him to do. And what a treat. He nailed it too!

I've never heard anything negative about his concerts. I saw him in 2009 with Elton John (EJ was SO off that night, pathetic)...I saw him briefly on Paul's encore at Yankee Stadium in 2011...and then we went up to MSG for his birthday concert last year...so I'm looking forward to his first concert in MY hometown in over forty years! Last year at the birthday gig he did the "hard days night" bit too

I'm also trying for U2 tix. Seem to be impossible to get. Trying for $48 seats at MSG. Lol. I wish Paulie would announce his tour earlier too. It really annoys me having to miss all of these great artists bc I'm so worried about not having Paul money. Lol. Billy Joel in December at MSG. Should be fun. Went last April. Can't get enough of him. Hoping he'll do some 2016 shows.

Got nosebleeds with my girlfriend for Billy Joel here in Baltimore!!! This will be Joel concert #3 for me ('09 with Elton John & '14 on his birthday!) My grandmother and I have been chatting (and dreaming) about coming up for the December concert at MSG...not sure if anything will come of that, but we'll see! So my calendar is... 2/27- The British Invasion Tour 7/25- Billy Joel 8/11- Motley Crue & Alice Cooper 11/1- The Who ...quite a diverse lineup!

I'm debating the who in April in Miami. May have to pull the trigger. Just saw Fleetwood Mac last month here too.

First concert of 2015 for me tonight! Heading up to Lancaster for this British Invasion tour that's out there this year and last. Peter Asher, Denny Laine, Billy J. Kramer, Chad & Jeremy, The Searchers, and Terry Sylvester. I'm sure there will be some great moments, and some not so great moments. But, it was only $35 and I haven't seen Denny Laine in seven years (I can't believe I've been seeing concerts that long!) PLUS there's a meet and greet with everyone afterwards so I'd really love to get him to sign something and snap a pic with me!

Overall, last night was very enjoyable! The 7:30 concert did not start until 8:15 because the group had flights from Boston cancelled on them so they all scattered and got down to Lancaster, PA however quickest they could. Peter Asher served as narator for the evening and did a wonderful job. He always talked for the right length of time between acts and never got boring. He was extremely apologetic for the delay and lack of soundcheck with each performer (including himself). Terry Sylvester came on first and only did ten minutes. I was expecting to hear The Hollies' hits but other than "Bus Stop", I couldn't tell you much of what he played. He didn't sound bad, but his jokes were terribly scripted and delivered. Mike Pender came on next and definitely raised the bar! He was very energetic and got the crowd very involved. He still plays that jangly 12-string rickenbacker and sounds just like he did on the record. He did twenty minutes but again, other than "Needles and Pins" and "Love Potion No. 9" I couldn't tell you much of what he chose to play last night. He also made some good-natured digs at Peter Asher and Billy J. Kramer which got the crowd going Chad and Jeremy came on next and again raised the bar for the evening. Actually, I would say they gave the best package of a performance the entire night and definitely recieved the best audience response. They played for a half hour and while it was maybe a bit longer than necessary, they were the perfect balance of genuinely beautiful music makers and ridiculous comedians. After a fifteen minute intermission, Denny Laine came on (the reason we were there!) and only did fifteen minutes of Moody Blues music and "Say You Don't Mind". I was definitely expecting more music from him, but what he did sounded great! I'd really love to see one of his full length shows. Next was the major downfall of the evening...Billy J. Kramer. Wow. If you've seen Ringo, it was like watching Johnny Cash do Ringo's stage antics. This was sad. He was terribly out of breath after the first song and just ruined himself. It was like watching a car crash and not being able to do anything. Although some people did something, by getting up and leaving...and for some reason the producer of this show gave him thirty minutes... Lastly Peter Asher came out at the end and played a few songs while completing his history lesson for us all despite some technical difficulties and false starts. He's a wonderful speaker and a very humble performer. After this, Denny Laine came back and did "Band on The Run" as all the other artists came back out for the choruses. After this, there was a meet and greet in the lobby with everyone. I bought a poster there and had it signed by all the acts...but I really just wanted to meet Denny! I brought my "London Town" LP and he complimented it's condition as he signed it...I asked him for a Denny Laine solo show in Baltimore..."we'll see"... We got a great picture together...and then I was on my merry way home!

I can add John Fogerty to my list for this summer! Never seem him before...but very excited!!! 10th row! Also....Ringo is coming back to Baltimore in October! WOOO! 6/22- John Fogerty 7/25- Billy Joel 8/11- Motley Crue & Alice Cooper 11/1- The Who

Sting & Paul Simon played in Oslo three days ago and I was there. I think it was a good show, I mainly went because of Paul Simon, I've never seen him live before and I consider him top ten among favorite songwriters. Sting I saw back in the 80s. What I also liked was that it was kind of seamless, almost like Simon & Garfunkel. I thought they'd maybe did this tour together for mareketable reasons, but no... it was musically a very nice evening of shared musicianship.

I saw them together last year and I'm glad I did! I was surprised at how well their voices sounded together, I was not expecting that. Was very nice. That was the first time I had seen Paul Simon live as well.
