Thanks to all of you who were there for your first-hand reports! love to hear them! Please keep the details coming! Anybody see any celebs inside? I saw that Steve VanZandt and Springsteen were there? Setlist...not surprising. Just like the San Antonio show, he took the regular set and pared it down, with a couple of adds. I think the last time he did NOT do Yesterday was the Electric Proms gig in 2007? Interesting about the CrowdSurge calls. Does sound like the FunClub days of old!
The first McCartney gig I saw was one without both 'Yesterday' or 'Hey Jude' (hallelujah): Radio City, NYC, '09. I think after that he only dropped those for non-public and promo gigs, indeed.

I hope Wox brings that Hammond Organ on tour. Nice to see one being used

I'd LOVE for Wix to get the hammond on tour... However...."Maybe I'm Amazed" has GOT to go. That's two TV appearances in a row now that tanked...

Yeah I just bowed my head in shame after hearing the opening chords to it. I cringe everytime I hear him sing it. Though when Abe's backing vocals kick in it gets better but still it's got to go. If he wanted to do a piano song I would of rather seen 1985... Just for the Hammond.

http://www.people.com/article/paul-mccartney-secret-show-nyc-valentines-day Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone and More Attend Surprise Paul McCartney Valentine's Day Show
He's set to perform at the Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary show Sunday, but the night before, Paul McCartney surprised fans and A-listers alike with a secret show.

I was at Radio City, too, but I don't tend to think of that as a McCartney gig, since it wasn't just his show that night, whereas the Proms was just him.

I said this over in another thread, but it didn't help matters when Paul chose to play a two hour concert the night before, and chose to play a song live that he normally plays about halfway through a regular concert. He was setting himself for a bad performance.

I see that Bob Gannon hasn't come back here to report in person, but he's got a nice account of the entire Irving Plaza day over at the Macca Report.... http://themaccareport.com/news/report.htm Click on TODAY'S NEWS at the left to get to it quicker, or YESTERDAY'S NEWS if you read this on another day. Not sure how to get a direct link to it. An excerpt, from the morning, before it had been announced: "The guard looked at me and said "Line up? I don't know what you are talking about". I smiled at him and said, C'mon we know that Paul McCartney is playing here tonight and I'm just trying to be a respectful fan and ask where you wanted us. With that, he lightened up, smiled and pointed and said right there is fine. So we were the first three and in great position if it did happen."

How about Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, Dan Aykroyd, Jim Belushi and Jimmy Fallon live onstage?
-

Post-SNL party, I believe.
