Your Greatest Bassist
-
So sad to hear of Donald 'Duck' Dunn passing, he was a great bass player. Also have to add Bruce Thomas to the mix
-
Geddy Lee of Rush is no slouch on the 4-string either.
-
diane1973:
Apart from Paul of course, it has to be Jim Lea (Slade).
good call
-
Definitely Mark King from Level 42, Great Bass Player especially when he does Slap Bass
-
The late Steve Currie bass player with T.rex , he played with the group from 1970 till 1976 . Watch him in the Ringo Starr directed film Born To Boogie (1972) his base playing is brilliant He was killed in a car accident in 1981 age 33 .

Hon. mentions go to Chris Squire of Yes and Stanley Clarke of Return to Forever.
-
John Deacon (Queen)
-
Macca's the absolute best, but I think John Entwistle and Brian Wilson are great.

Abe Laboriel Sr is awesome too!
-
The one that I sometimes jam with - Carlos . .. . . . . That's his real name ... . . . . . . . . No, not Santana
-
Roger Waters of the Pink Floyd, especially if you have a chance to hear any live recordings.
-
Bruce Foxton's bass is a real driving force in the Jam's best work, put that together with his backing vocals, Paul Weller's voice, guitar, lyrics and Rick Buckler pounding the drums and you have one of the greatest most overlooked bands of all time.
-
Definitely, Paul Weller really is the Modfather! Fantastic artist, definitely one of the greats.
-
Macca and Entwistle
-
Paul's my favorite. But my collective second-choices are: Larry Graham Bootsy Collins Flea
-
