The Beach Boys 50th Anniversary Tour
-
Very cool! Be sure to let us know how it goes! I've heard this tour is just getting better and better as they get more warmed up, play together more, and as Brian sees more fans!

I saw the show last week in Bethlehem PA. I had a great time, the band is mostly all of Brian's band so the music is stellar, plus they have all the vocal "ringers" to help get those beautiful harmonies. They did a real good job of creating a set list that had a ton of hits but also a few lesser known tracks for the die hards. I was shocked when they pulled out "It's OK" from 15 Big Ones, that was a huge surprise to me. Anybody who attends any of the shows should have a great time!!!

I had a great time at the concert last night. The harmonies were great, the band was tight and really energetic. But more importantly Brian's voice was strong all night through. Something I was a little concerned about before the show. Foster the People came out at 7:30 at performed for about 45 minutes. Mark Foster told a story about how his first concert when he was seven was a Beach Boys concert. And at that time he didn't know what an opening act was, so when he saw a man in tight silver pants doing the splits, he thought The Beach Boys had gone modern and were performing all new songs, so he started to cry. And later found out the opening act was David Cassidy. They later came out to sing Wouldn't It Be Nice. I guess I was disappointed, but not surprised, that there was only two songs from SMiLE. But the crowd had better reactions to the later career songs. Though the reactions were huge to Surfin' USA and Fun, Fun, Fun. Very nice crowd overall, though. Mike Love was being Mike Love though, he told everyone during the intermission to go and buy the hand embroidered t-shirts. "Whatever you get, just buy". : The new single was great live and was well received, which seemed to make everyone on stage very pleased.

I really hope to get to this tour, it's not cooperating with my holidays They are at the top of my list, other than Paul, as bands to see really SOON!!

I'm torn. I really hate London but would love to see this show. Think its around that, thought I read 28 September but could be wrong.

Well, thats a month after there last official date for now. So, I'd imagine more are gonna fill in between here and there. They're already hitting the major euro stops...maybe a month long legitimate UK tour is in the works?

I think I read the 28th too, I'll not be booking anything until it's certain that they aren't doing any other dates. I don't like London for concerts because the crowds are usually crap but would love to see the show. Hoping for a Belfast or Dublin date really.

Here's hoping. Even a date in Scotland, Ireland, Wales and Northern England.

Brill news got an email about it today, 28th September Wembley Arena will hopefully be a date in the diary!!, oddly enough It'll be a year since I saw Brian Wilson at the Festival Hall.

Lucky you! Think it will sell out? I would rather not travel all the way to Londo but I will if I have to, problem is I can't really afford another trip so soon until I start work which isn't until August...I'll be gutted if I miss them when they're so close though! On the other hand when I think about the cost of such a trip I could use it to see a Paul soundcheck!!

Well, if you want to see these guys soundcheck...it is MUCH more reasonable. You can get soundcheck, meetngreet, AND front row, plus the tangible goodies for $400 over here. I opted out of the front row, for a seat in 2-5, and paid $375.

Managed to get a o2 presale ticket upper tier but near the stage, didn't go for the soundcheck package tempting as it was! Would expect they will add other UK/Ireland dates, when is your BB show taking place Wixrocks?!

Anyone hear the new album yet? I just listened to it a few times on Grooveshark, and must say I was pleasantly surprised. I went in with fairly low expectations, but it's a very nice album. Cheesy at times? Yes. Auto tuned? Yes. But it's easy to forgive after thinking of all the joy that they have brought to us all. The suite at the end is what captivated me the most, the general sadness of the tone struck me emotionally. These guys were my first glimpses of music when I was young, and now to think it's all over...it was very emotional. But the rest is mostly all cheering fun in the sun stuff, but thats fine! It all works very well.
