Bowie Fett:
After being a fanatical listener of most things Beatles since age 3, I attended a McCartney show for the very first time, at Dodger Stadium. I had been putting it off for almost 20 years and finally caved in for the historic show. A great performance, crowd, setting, and "super moon." His live albums/DVD's of the last 20+ years lack the energy and grit of the Dodger Stadium performance. I'm in for all of his future L.A. show(s) and hope the next one is soon. He seems to visit Los Angeles every 4-5 years. Maybe (and sadly), I just witnessed his last performance in L.A.? Also, I did see a wealth of cameras. An official release?
They tape every show.

And I believe Ron Howard's crew might have been filming for his movie about the Beatles.

There were more cameras during the opener "Eight Days A Week" than I've ever seen at a concert.

I would love to say there may be an official release coming out because lord do we need one and if we do get one I hope they do it RIGHT. The only way to listen/watch to McCartney live anymore is on proshot/soundboard bootlegs or to just see him in concert. All the DVD's are a joke. The CDs (besides WOA and Tripping) are no far behind it.. Soo if we see a release from this tour I pray that it is done right..

Paul's concert DVDs are horrible. I would only buy it after others had and could tell me it isn't a bunch of showing celebs in the crowd, etc. Otherwise, I don't buy.

I took some photos of the shows. They are not so great but if you still want to see them, here is. https://picasaweb.google.com/116751324549930992838/PaulMcCartenyLosAngelesOn81014
You captured some nice moments. And quality is really crisp. Thanks for sharing. I was way over to the side, so I have distortion in mine, but I managed to pick a few I liked: https://www.flickr.com/photos/parlance/sets/72157645942705218/ I had a fantastic time, and everyone in my section - including the little girl standing a chair next to me - was excited and dancing and singing along. I wanted so badly to follow it up with Candlestick Park, but I have to be fiscally responsible right now. But so happy I got another chance to see a full show! parlance

Did the "special guests" materialize?
Nope. Ringo, Jeff Lynne and Joe Walsh were there, but did not appear on stage.
I don't mean to cast doubt on your comment, but are you saying that Ringo was in the audience? I was sitting in section E, right by the aisle, and I was watching like a hawk as the VIPs started coming in at 8:20. They were easy to spot because they were all escorted by security. I saw Joe Walsh, Jeff Lynne, and Kanye West. I didn't see Ringo. Of course, I could have easily missed him in the confusion, or he could have come in another way, or he was simply been backstage. Anyone else see him? Any other sources report he was there?
-
I was about 4 rows in fromt of the VIP's and I didn't see Ringo. But then I didn't spy Kanye either, just Jeff and Joe and spouses.
-
I have been told by people who were in LA that Ringo did not sit with Joe Walsh and Jeff Lynne if he was in attendance.

I doubt Ringo even attended this show. It was promoted as a commemoration of sorts of the Beatles last concert, and Ringo was also on stage that evening in 1966. Why would he go and sit in the audience? I am not saying there is any sour grapes. But to celebrate THAT event, Paul and Co. should have set aside a song or two, brought Ringo up to sing and even play drums on a couple of songs, separate from Paul's regular show.
-
Kanye was there.

I don't know if Ringo attended the show, but I know that he and Joe Walsh had dinner with Paul at a popular restaurant in West Hollywood the night before the show. Upon hearing that I hoped that Ringo would join Paul on stage or even Joe Walsh repeat the guitar appearance on My Valentine that he did at Musicares in 2012, but no luck on either front. The only celebrity I saw was Joe Jonas who was escorted in during Eight Days a Week and sat in my row a few seats down from me. I did find it amusing that during Hey Jude, that the only professional singer near me wasn't singing along when Paul wanted the guys to sing.

My bad. I got confused and thought this was about the San Francisco show. ops:

From Billboard: "McCartney also sold out Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on Aug. 10 with more than $5.2 million in revenue from 52,605 sold seats."
