Wishes for Paul's New Album?

LadyLeslie:
Hi NancyR & oobu24, Were you thinking of this version of Besame Mucho, that was done by the Beatles for Decca records?
I was thinking of this solo version by Paul during the Let it Be seesions, played slower as more of a ballad.I just said it's on the Decca Tapes album, meaning it is out there (recorded) already. I'm also familiar with the Let It Be version.

Hi jl4761! doing good, thanks Yes it's great to share ideas. Even if they're not used, I'm sure Paul has people that advise him on ideas for his fanbase, to market his new album, and if they check the forums here to get an idea about what the fans would like, that probably helps them, when they're trying to formulate marketing campaigns and make decisions, etc. It's probably beneficial for them to know about any ideas or opinions the fans may have
If they make a movie about Paul's upcoming tour, they'll call it Paul McCartney and the Record Factory!

Sounds great jl4761! I can picture it now... six fans win golden tickets, and Paul (in top hat) gives a tour of his Magical Mystery Musical Factory.... You can be Charley, and I can be one of the other 5... maybe the fan who falls backwards in a faint, at the very beginning when Paul introduces himself... When the tour is over, after the oompa loompas carry me out on a stretcher, you can let me know how everything went (In thinking about it, I'd rather faint than turn into a giant blueberry...... ) Seriously though, I"m sure Paul's advisors are probably thinking up some good marketing ideas for his fanbase, with the release of the new album, and they probably appreciate getting feedback from fans about any thoughts they may have about it, or what they'd like to see on it, etc., like what's been posted throughout this thread.

I will be Charley, I will learn a lot from Paul which will result in me growing up to be a famous Rock Star! But that movie would be the sequel! In the main movie, Paul will give me the Magical Mystery Record Factory and I will make the Oompa Loompa's famous! As for you, I will make you my business partner and Manager and we will both conquer the world. How's that LadyLeslie?

Sounds like a great plan, jl4761! Would love to have a part in helping to get his music out, even if I have to wrap each CD myself in BPA-free plastic. Even though you'd run it, we probably should let Paul keep a majority holding interest in it though, since it's his music. We can't deprive him of his musical rights!

I already have the contract ready for Paul to sign which will give him all rights to his music and no one can take his music away from him!

Know what you mean! I have a dvd of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and had to watch it last night Concerning Paul's new album, there was a brief mention of it at this link: (nothing new that we haven't heard before) http://www.therotundaonline.com/arts_and_entertainment/what-to-expect-in-mainstream-music-in/article_bb6cf35a-e660-11e6-a6b4-6b608a54f353.html "What to expect in mainstream music in 2017... Legendary acts may be making a return this year... Sir Paul McCartney has been active recording music since his 2015 collaboration with [Kanye] West and could be gearing up for a solo release this year..." Don't think "could be" are the right words... I think it's pretty well been established (from other news reports) that he has an album completed, it's just in the post-production stage now.

Yes, I think your right and that he is currently mixing the album. Paul usually likes to take a break between completing the recordings and the start of mixing. Christmas and his New Year holiday in St Barts gave him that braek.

Thanks, Kestrel! Sounds like we should hear more about it within the next few months then. Really looking forward to hearing all the new music!

I also own Willy Wonka on DVD, you've just inspired me to watch it when I get the chance!

That's great! However long it takes to be released, I'm sure Paul's fans will agree that it'll be worth the wait

Happy viewing, jl4761! Know you'll enjoy seeing it I hadn't seen it in a long time and it brought back a lot of good memories... I remember seeing it many years ago when it first came out in theaters, when I was 11 (the same age as the kids were in the movie! ) If they ever did a Broadway version of it, they should consider Paul for the lead.

Hi LadyLeslie! We must be around the same age seeing I saw Willy Wonka when it first came out in the theaters back in 71. However, I got kicked out of the theater for throwing Milk Duds at the screen. I wish they would have been selling Wonka Bars in the snack bar in the theater lobby. Maybe that would have kept me from buying Milk Duds! I didn't even get my money back after I got kicked out of the theater! That's a great idea Lady Leslie about considering Paul for the lead, we both have pretty good imaginations don't we?
-
Hmm well for me he can keep doing what he is doing like he did with his other albums like Driving Rain, Chaos and Creation, Memory Almost Full. Those are my top favorite albums. I love the lyrics he wrote on those albums. So I would not mind if he did an album like the three I have mentioned. But it does not hurt for Paul to do what he likes on a new album. I mean he's written hundreds of songs and they are all different. So I am sure with whatever new album he comes out with he will have a variety of different sounding songs. He has the talent for that more than any other musician I know. I always go back to Paul's music no matter what.

Yes, I think so too! That's how most creative ideas get started... without imagination there is no creativity in my opinion... But Paul would be perfect for the lead, and could sing "Pure imagination" (which could have been the title of a Beatles song at one time, lol) That's too bad you didn't get to see the entire Willy Wonka movie when you were 11, due to the Milk Dud throwing... but at least you have it on DVD now Between High School and College, I worked at a movie theater for 1 day...... but that's all I could stand, lol... the ticket taking was ok, but having to pry and scrape off the dried milk duds and gum and holy cow bars off the floors and theater seats was so gross... then we had to hose everything down and there was a dried candy garbage river going down the steps of the theater... (cement floor with stadium seating)... it just wasn't for me and I quit after one day, lol

I agree, maccasfangirl30. His music will always be the most important thing, that he will always be remembered for. Sometimes it's fun to imagine him doing a Broadway show, or a movie etc, which I think he could do successfully, but he seems happiest just making music and performing. It's what he's always loved doing since he was a little kid, really, and what means the most to him artistically.
