Paul McCartney 2016 Rumors

pierceedge:
I'm seeing more news outlets reporting on a potential festival in California with the other big groups, and I feel like tickets will be completely unaffordable.
Yeah, the lineup for that festival in CA sounds incredible, but the demand for tix (and prices for them) are going to be astronomical, even if they add a second weekend for this.

There's been a few rumors about this. I heard it on the radio yesterday. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/music/posts/la-et-ms-coachella-mega-rock-concert-20160415-story.html
-
Hum. Maybe it WILL happen. Wouldn't mind flying out for that.
-
I didn't see the broadcast myself (it was mentioned on another forum) but, apparently, the entertainment correspondent on an Australian TV show called "Today" (Richard Wilkins) said that Paul's people are in Australia talking to promoters. It's a long way to come if you're not seriously trying to make something happen, so I think there's a better than even chance that we'll be seeing Paul on the One On One Tour!

there are things going on, behind scenes that make it quite hard to say with complete accuracy as things look to be/are changing very late in the game. I think the south may have to wait until next time to rise again! Unless things have changed. Time will tell

You're describing every concert tour to ever exist ever (except for country music)

Not true at all, usually fairly easy.

Yes, thanks, Bob! Even tho the changes are because I would just like the rest of the dates already. I have some stuff to plan for July, Paul!

I will say though that within the past two years that things change a lot. What I mean is I hate when bands plan a huge tour of the US and it is like 6 cities, All in either the northeast or California.

Nope.

October Coachella looks to be 1 weekend. I don't know if there are another trio of 60's acts who could headline a festival -- Pink Floyd and Grateful Dead, who I don't think are available, and I'm stumped for a 6th. The Who, Neil Young, and Roger Waters are supposed to be 2nd on the bills. So, Friday's schedule may end with Waters and McCartney, Saturday may be Young and Dylan, Sunday ends with The Who and the Stones. Something like that.
-
Cleveland date confirmed - August 17th.
-
Did we have a confirmation of Cleveland or was it just all speculation, because either or both worked?

The second weekend that been mentioned would be with exact same acts, which is what happens with the Coachella festival occuring this weekend and next weekend. The pairings and days they playing was already mentioned in articles. They said the Stones and Dylan on Oct 7, McCartney and Young on Oct 8 and Waters and the Who on the 9th.

I was born in Cleveland, but I'm flying out of Atlanta for London on Aug. 18th, so can't do that show. Well, technically I could, but it's too close for comfort.
