Remembering Linda

^ Note the little wristband that says McCartney. No doubt who the father of that baby is! I remember the day she was born. I was 14 and I did the math, realizing Linda was about 3 1/2 months pregnant when they got married. (They had announced in May that she was expecting in December!)

It would have been difficult dating Paul and waiting until marriage before "consummating the relationship"
I don't think any female alive would have been able to. You can only clean his house for so long......
And I agree with you about Mary being a true McCartney baby. She looked just like a mini-Paul when she was born!

I’m afraid it would have been Paul who wouldn’t have stood for waiting! You’d have been booted out in short order!
Jane was the only one he waited for, but had plenty of other girls while biding his time!

if it came to a choice between Paul or keeping your virtue.. I think we all know what the answer would be

Beautiful photo of Linda and her babies! Happy 50th Birthday to Mary who probably has been one of the world's most recognized child. She has gracefully followed in her Mum's footsteps, with photography and cooking. Picked up one of her cookbooks recently, with some very yummy recipies!!! Her exhibit with her and her Mum's photos was beautifully done!!!

What did you mean by "Jane was the one he waited for, but he had plenty of other girls while biding his time"--how do you know when he and Jane first got it on ? (LOL)
-
Linda was a good person, and very kind... not just to the people she met, but also to animals as well! To me it doesn't matter whether Paul and Linda decided to go for it from the very beginning, lol... I believe they were (well, Linda was, and Paul still is) good and kind and virtuous people, who've done alot to make the world a better place! (Virtuous meaning that they were trying to have the virtue of living their life with integrity, and being true to their beliefs.)
Sure Paul may have sown a few wild oats back in the day, lol, but it would be unrealistic to expect that with all the women throwing themselves at him that he wouldn't have taken advantage of an opportunity every now and then, he's only human! I think he's a good person who's doing a lot of good things and standing up for good causes that hopefully will make a difference.

It is widely known that when the Beatles first met Jane 2 weeks after her 17th birthday, John couldn’t believe she was a virgin and asked her a bunch of rude questions. Paul pulled her aside to apologize for John and later got her #. Sometime that same year (1963) Mrs. Asher invited him to live in their home. In an interview, many years later, (could have been Howard Stern) Paul talked about how it was quite a long time between meeting her and their first time. So that’s what I meant - he didn’t dump her because she wouldn’t “put out” - he waited for her, but I’m quite sure he didn’t remain celibate while waiting!

Another cute pic of Linda with newborn baby Mary, August, 1969

I think you're right Nancy, it is 1976. Apart from the 'hairstyles', another visual clue is that it looks like the photo was taken at the premier for the Jack Lemmon / Roy Bolger film 'The Entertainer',which had its US release on 10th March 1976 . I can't see any listed activities for Paul during the first week or two of March (Wings begin rehearsing at Elstree film studios on the 14th March) so he could have been in the US.

We'll have to check photos of what outfits Paul was wearing, but the video linked below seems to indicate the photo Nancy posted was taken at the London premiere of "That's Entertainment" released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) in 1974... I've also seen photos of Paul and Linda at the premiere of "That's Entertainment II" in 1976, where he also could have been wearing the same bow tie... When "The Entertainers" (that Kestrel mentioned) was released, maybe he brought out the same bowtie again! lol We'll have to check what outfits Linda was wearing at each event as well.
At the 1974 premiere Paul and Linda were photographed with Gene Kelly and other classic film stars.
Edited to add: Photo that Nancy posted of Paul and Linda dancing is at 1:26 on video linked above.

Really nice pictures of Linda and Paul. Makes me think of her photo exhibit... Wish they allowed photos...will try and post some of the ones I saw there.
Through a Glass Teapot ~ Linda

Being a photographer, I'll bet Linda was looking at how the teapot acted as a lens and turned the two trees upsidedown. I've always really liked this one especially... her photos are so multilevel ...
It would be difficult to pick just one photo of hers that I could buy, but this is on my short list. Was so happy to see it in person!!!

Great detective work Leslie! The photo is clearly from 1974 “That’s Entertainment” premiere.

Well done Leslie, that looks pretty conclusive. I'm not sure the You Tuber has got the date right though. Or the event. 10th February 1974 and Paul was in Stockport working on his brothers *McGear album. Paul could have gone to London just for the premier of course but then again, the few photos of Paul taken during these sessions shows him sporting a high fringe hair style. A lot higher than the fringe in the That's Entertainment premier photos at least.

Thanks, Nancy! I'm sure Paul could have worn the same bow tie and Linda the same dress at other events, so it can be confusing with photos, to pinpoint exact dates

Thanks, Kestrel! As I said in previous post, it can be confusing to date photos, because Paul and Linda liked to wear the same outifts/clothes to several events! And then there was the"That's Entertainment II" premiere in 1976... at first I thought maybe the photo was from that time!
We'll have to find photos of Paul and Linda at the London premiere of "The Entertainer" from 1976. I'm curious if he's wearing the same bow tie, lol

Just read Linda McCartney’s Sixties 1993 book of photographs and there was one she took on Aug. 8, 1969 during the Abbey Road cover shoot where she referred to herself in the caption as “just Paul’s girlfriend taking a photo.” I guess she forgot the were already married! Then there’s the famous photo of John & Paul taken in mid-Oct. 1968 where Paul is writing and they’re both laughing. It was said that they were going over the song order for the album, which Linda says is Abbey Road! Other than those two gaffes, it’s a great book of photos, no new Beatles/Paul ones, but many others I had never seen. She does shut down the rumor that she had an affair with Jimi Hendrix, but doesn’t admit to the ones with several other of her photographic subjects that are well-known. She talks about them being “great friends” etc. Also, was surprised to read that she had been out to the west coast so much to take photos of bands, and that she had been to London twice between May 1967 and May 1968, but didn’t see Paul. Wild horses couldn’t have dragged me away from trying to get together again with him!
