I was a big fan of Ginsburg. He inspired me a lot back when I was a renowned performing poet in the Detroit area (guaranteed to draw a crowd if only for them to guess what I was on). I even got to meet him around this time in Ann Arbor when he performed there. I never knew he did this and boy, I wish I had some guitar back up like this in those days.

"I don't like you" "I'll get over it"

That was really cool! Thanks for sharing. I thought I had exhausted YouTube Macca, had no idea this was out there.

I have the CD single of "The Ballad of the Skeletons" from 1996 with lyrics and voice by Allen Ginsberg, guitar, drums, Hammond organ, maracas and music by Paul McCartney, keyboards and music by Philip Glass, and Lenny Kaye on bass and producer. I think it's one of his most interesting collaborations. An epic combination of music and poetry. One of my favorites.

I believe that we all discussed this awhile ago when Jen was still on the board. But yes...nice guy for backup.

Yeah, most might be discussed up and down, except for his next move... I just look at threads and if I can find a sentence to add I do it.

Some people at my former internet "home" used to revive topics that were over 5 years old. There would be questions like "Where should I go on vacation in June?" and 5 years later someone is offering suggestions. That kind of thing can be pretty funny sometimes. In this case, I don't see anything wrong with reviving this one.

I'm sorry if I was misunderstood about reviving this topic. I never said anything was wrong with doing that...I was thinking about a member that does not visit here anymore...Jen. Because she also was a big fan of Ginsburg.

No, nothing like that. It just reminded me of the politics and drama of reviving old topics, and how absurd it all can get. 99% of internet drama is just people looking for something to complain about.

I have one complaint: it is actually Ginsberg, with an E.

I assume you were just being facetious? He was a Jewish American. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allen_Ginsberg

Im still new to this board and Beatle fandom . There are alot of topics that I would love to revive from looking at the threads, but I wont because I dont want to be chased off the board.

Chased off the board for reviving threads? I don't consider internet my home or users my friends but it sounds over the top exclusionary.

He-he, yep, I have to do that myself sometimes, not just to read but to write. It's not certain I choose precise words, I might choose words that I think suits. I went to school before globalization and English was just a side language, one hour a month or something. Young people now is maybe better than I though some have better ear for language. I'm a bit like what Springsteen sings in "No Surrender"; 'We learned more from a three minute record, than we ever learned in school'. Tjo-bing!

When in doubt, ask a moderator. If the people in charge don't have a problem with something then it should be ok. You can't go by what members complain about because this is the internet. Someone is going to complain about everything.
