Congratulations! I was told by Crowdsurge that my ticket will be waiting for me at the box office.

I think some of the ticket prices for the UK shows are the cheapest anywhere.
That's not really the case at all. I just checked Birmingham ticket availability and the cheapest ticket price was 72.45 pounds. Translated to dollars, that's about $113. That's not cheap. I've seen tickets for Paul in the U.S. as low as $25 (in Detroit). And at the last show I went to, the cheapest seats were $45 and $75. So $113 is a midrange ticket price and not particularly "cheap."

My son announced that he has bought me a ticket for Birmingham as a surprise present! I am in nearly the same place as last time, Block 2 Lower. I wondered when the show starts following the doors opening at 6pm? Also, is it possible to take a small bottle of water in to the NIA/Barclaycard arena as I have to take a few tablets during an evening....if not what is the charge for this these days? The last time I went to a gig was...Paul in Birmingham and then, camera phones did not exist! Are these accepted at all gigs now? Finally, apart from suffering from a nasty autoimmune condition which is not good at present I also have to get over a fear of crowds to see this gig. Will all fans please send me all their thoughts and prayers to get the courage and effort to make the gig, please?! TIA Vigman

First of all what an absolutely fabulous surprise - your Son must've gone to loads of trouble for you! I really hope you make the concert, you'll have an amazing time! I feel your pain with health issues (inflammatory arthritis!) but it's Paul! Don't want to miss it! Have an amazing time!

What a great surprise from your son! As far as bottled water goes, you should probably check with the venue to be sure, but seems that most of them don't allow people to bring in bottles of any sort. Hope you have a wonderful time seeing Paul!

Why hasn't it sold out yet ??
Because the ticket prices are really expensive and because a lot of people in your country have been down on Paul since the 2012 Olympics.
Little doubt that the UK in general have had enough of Paul sadly the amount of people we talk who say "he should retire","he's past it" and worse i usually ask what gig they're going to see next and more often than not get an anser such "britain's got talent""x factor"or pre proccessed pap of yesteryear such as s club 7 or even worst garbage from the '80's on a trip down memory lane concert, the trip generally being them playing their one hit form 1985. I also ask and get no proper answer to "when did you see Paul last"?and more often than not they've never seen him they base it all on those horror shows a few years back, the mind boggles it really does.

It is amazing the amount of people have said to me, they went off seeing him live after the Olympics Performance

I wonder if a significant proportion of the target audience for these shows either has gotten out of the habit of going to gigs or/and the ticket prices are also a factor. Bob Dylan visits the UK on a fairly regular basis, the Royal Albert Hall is obviously a smaller venue than arenas but I see 4 out of 5 shows sold out quickly and the 5th one is close to selling out and those shows aren't until October. Ticket prices though are much more reasonable though especially for the younger fans with less disposable income. Paul is also a constant presence in the UK press so even though he hasn't played here in a while the shows don't have the feel of a major comeback. Disastrous TV performances such as the aforementioned Olympics certainly don't help either. I also think that even the biggest names can struggle to sell tickets-perhaps the first return after a really long time away attracts sell out crowds but after that it does get harder. Dylan again an exception but because he tours constantly that actually builds up a fan base - often a younger fan base at that so it's almost an old fashioned way of playing to the public and being seen as a contemporary working musician rather than a 60's legend.

Once again a factor the big PR machine of THE Paul McCartney of all people could adjust. They should have broadcast - and edit of - the strong - and polished - Tokyo '13 special on ITV or BBC or whatever. But no, instead an overload of public performances pushing a single which is either not released yet or months past its momentum.

Landing on the 27th, checking in at Holiday Inn Exp. Albert Dock Liverpool. I hope my flight is on time! Then on to Birmingham! Looking forward to seeing all the regulars and new Board members. Any place special in Birmingham that anybody is getting together or that is suggested for a drink near Barclaycard Arena? I'm hoping to get there around 6:30, I have to pick up my ticket at the box office. Next, Liverpool concert, with some good friends!

Last Saturday's O2 Arena gig could possibly be one of my favourite Macca gigs. I got a plectrum too. My first ever Macca gig was in this very venue in 'Historic Warwick' so it'll be special and then Liverpool. I can't wait.

This concert will be tomorrow! Who will be there?

Thanks to all previous replies! Aiming to go in just after the big rush at 6pm. Although the NIA has been upgraded since becoming the Barclaycard Arena I am in Lower Block 2 again, great view of the stage. Anyone know the start time of the whole performance and a clue as to what (if any) the pre show is? Cirque du Soleil last time! Enjoy the show Vigman

At what point in the encore can you go up to the front of the stage? Normally the first time he goes off stage right?

At the O2 they were not allowing anyone to go to the front of the stage, unless you were seated there already
