NEW PAUL & NIRVANA SONG

MaccaBeatles:
Does anyone else think this has the potential to be Paul's biggest hit in years? If i'm correct I think that My Brave Face was his single to reach the top 25/30.
I do, actually. Many of us have hoped Paul would have at least one more hit single, and this one could be it, not just on the strength of a reunited Nirvana (surviving members), but also it's a great rocker.
-
I should mention I can't see it being a UK hit at all but maybe a semi-big US hit.

We love our Nirvana over here. I'm curious as to how many downloads of the song have already been sold...

I bought it the second I learned about it! It serves for very good publicity for the movie. Looks like a tour (featuring the musicians in the movie) is going to follow the films screening! http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/nirvana-paul-mccartney-song-stems-from-dave-grohls-sound-city-documentary-20121213?utm_source=dailynewsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter

If you read the last paragraph carefully, it says "we could" do that, there's definitely nothing concrete planned at all.

And glad someone is with me on how sweet a fit the name Elysium would actually be for a group name of that Paul/Nirvana combo act. I challenge anyone to come up with a better one ! Not to stroke myself but I named every band I've ever been in didn't always sing lead, but I can name bands baby
If you don't want to stroke yourself, I will! (wait, that came out wrong!) ops: Great name for their band! My son had a band called No Such Number. I don't think he even knew the Elvis connection there (audi will get that right away)

I figured the video you posted would be more of a response to the first part of Nancy's message, like this:

yes, but he says "soon, we'll learn what the big plan is." It's something he is really trying to do. It's his objective that hasn't been obtained yet. There's a chance it'll happen. Maybe not with Paul, but possibly with Tom Petty and Neil Young. All i'm saying is that there's a chance.

I think you are on to something Audi!

I don't recall Paul ever playing slide guitar before...either in the studio or on stage. Correct me if I'm wrong...
-
The studio tracks great! Paul sounds superb! Great big meaty sound if that makes sense!

I agree. It has a great sound. Much more melodic without losing the rawness. Hopefully, it goes to #1 both here in the States and the UK. Its been a while since Paul's last #1.

21st Century Paul:
are these the lyrics: "mother set me free mother let me be mother watch me blow mother i want to have a son"
Mother, do you think they'll like this song?

'Nothing Too Much Just Out Of Sight', though probably the same type of guitar used.

I do. Not because is the best thing Paul has done since 1985 or so... AT ALL! But, well, the circumstances, "Nirvana reunion" and all that. Same old thing, Marketing. But well Paul had already a #1 with U2 with Sgt Pepper after Live 8. It became the most downloaded song ever. It depends if you count downloads as sales or not. Cause this "Cut Me Some Slack" is not gonna be released as a single, I guess.

One show with SOME of the artists on the album, maybe. A tour? No way, mostly because a lot of those folks are embarking on their own tours.

Paul played a cigar box resinator at the 121212 concert.

Any word if the single will be available through Paul's site? I don't feel like bothering with iTunes.
