A couple people on Steve Hoffman's forums say they've heard it. Folks have reported it to be catchy and Beatles-ish. One person compared it to George's "When We Was Fab" -- not that it really sounded like George's song, but that it connected to the Beatles in a similar way, not sounding exactly like a Beatles song but with definite Beatley musical gestures, if that makes any sense. Again, I haven't heard it, I'm just reporting what people who have say about it. A couple blogs are reporting that the new single will be release to radio Oct. 8. See, for example, http://joshgill.wordpress.com/2013/10/03/new-macca-singlemusic-video-queenie-eye-set-for-release/ . But there's been no official confirmation of the date, and this information has yet to appear on any of the usual industry sites -- but then again, they were totally blindsided when the "New" single was released, so we shall see.

Now that it's confirmed that "Queenie Eye" will hit radio on Oct. 8, I wonder if that means that the track will be available to download on that day as well, the way "New" was. And will there be a physical single? iTunes also sells music videos, so that's another possibility if the video is ready by then.

That song title "Queenie Eye" reminds me of that old reality fashion show from years back, "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy." I've read this is another nostalgic lyric like on MAF, it's about a childhood game he played with his little mates. An "Irish" game. When first heard MAF I thought of Ingmar Bergman's great film "Wild Strawberries"--the main character was flooded with memories from his childhood and youth, kept being overwhelmed by them and by his nocturnal sleep state dreams, and waking fantasies and daydreams.

At least we should get some feedback on this song, assuming a boardie makes it to the Listening Parties tonight..... Martin

I just heard "Queenie Eye" on Breakfast with the Beatles, and I love it! Reminds me tempo-wise of "Let 'Em In." I think it's my favorite of the "new" tracks so far. parlance

It's out!!!!!!!!! http://www.directcurrentmusic.com/the-daily-current-home/paul-mccartney-queenie-eye.html
PAUL EPWORTH should have produced the entire album. He brings out the best of Macca's melodic qualities & definitely has the best cuts on the album.

I love the piano riff!! It reminds me of a slower version of Flaming Pie's piano riff. The bass sounds so amazing and powerful too!! I'm so happy! And I can't wait to see what else Paul has in store for us. I also love how "Everybody Out There" reminds me of "Young Boy." It has that happy acoustic sound that is so lively and motivating. Hmm I can't really explain it, just a personal way of looking at life. I guess I'm just trying to do "some good before I say goodnight" for the night. It's 2 am here in New York! But I just can't stop thinking about Paul's New album.

Oh, it IS good!!! And it sounds even better each time I listen to it. It locks into the brain. I'll be doing my own little sing along of it all day...at the office!!! "Queenie Eye, Queenie Eye......." Great production! Very dense and very interesting. It's Beatley without purposely trying to sound that way. Not even slightly derivative. Paul still has that special gift. (And I love Paul's explanation of what it all means...the childhood- game-thing. Didn't Ringo have a song that had the lyric O-U-T spells out? Maybe he had that same childhood game in mind....

The Beatles used "O-U-T spells out" in their 1967 Christmas message. For the Anthology, the complete take of the song part of that message was edited into its own track "Christmas Time (Is Here Again)" and then Ringo covered that on his 1999 Christmas album "I Wanna Be Santa Claus". There's a heck of a lot of OUT on this NEW album!

Bloody marvellous this! Something tells me this will do well on the single charts in the UK especially, it is quirky, gripping and catchy, not really Beatley, its more Paul than Beatle, cant wait to hear more!
-
Really liking 'Queenie Eye'! This is going to be a rockin' album! Can't wait!!!
-
umteenth listen and this makes me proud again to be a McCartney fan. Better get the t-shirts out!

There's already a cover version of Queenie Eye http//

Certain parts of it vocally remind me of a track from Off The Ground. Over-all it's far more Wings than Beatles for me! No one agree? Keyboards, vocals, atmosphere is all Wings. 'Night Out' springs to mind. But the media always want to reference Beatles....it's so tiring ) The production/arrangement is excellent.
