Paul's upcoming album review they say its HOT!
-
Music to my ears.
-
It's good to know that "his band" is playing on the album.
-
The touring band is playing on the album? That doesn't sound so hot. They're alright for touring, but... I don't know.

I'm with you on that. They're great as a touring band....very proficient, great harmonies, etc. But as a band in the studio....being able to come up with great ideas, yay or nay songs, etc....I think they're pretty suspect. They seem like a great bunch of guys, so I'm glad Paul is enjoying their company on the road. (I'm trying to finish this on a semi-positive note before I get flamed to death, lol).

Well, Abe could be exaggerating. They played on "Driving Rain" (essentially) but "Chaos" and "Memory" were mostly Paul, as I understand. I would guess Paul still did much of it himself on the new album.

I'm absolutely thrilled to hear that McCartney used his band on the new album! It will give it more rock and roll power and punch. McCartney's cool on his own, but he doesn't get the sound and power of a band. I wish he used them exclusively to record the whole album. Seems people forget or don't realize that these guys (especially Rusty and Brian) are constantly in the studio recording their own albums, so they are very efficient at recording and coming up with ideas. I like what Abe said, it makes the album sound that much more exciting!

21st Century Paul:
Well sooner or later the new single would be aired on some radio... I don't have a clue or when or where. I guess this is not gonna be the new single, probably Paul doesn't even record it (maybe for a Russian Edition, lol). But it is a new song and he has played it live. Petrushka-Paul's new song live in London
there's several videos of other live performances New York soundcheck I love it, if this is not on the album it's gonna be the biggest disappoint since Central Park 4.00 or since Is It Raining in London (from the Off The Ground sessions) Hamish Stuart liveYou're joking right?
No, I like a lot Petrushka and The Mist of Central Park. Surely better than half of the songs on MAF, DR, Chaos, etc.

Oh, the strange mind of yours, Ollie.
...it's just common sense... it's like -"Everything is relative" -"Okay (for a minute), then "everything is relative" is a relative thing, so some things are not relative..." or... -"There is no absolute truth" -"Is that an absolute truth?" Classic ways of debunking myths... ever since the Greek philosophers... Now, let's back with "the song Paul is singing" instead of the "Philosophical discussion"

I really don't know. I think is Paul's take on doing that kind of song, but maybe it is older than Paul... maybe someone from Russia will know.

Those Were The Days was based on an old Russian tune wasn't it?
Those Were The Days is a cover of a Russian song. Paul saw some Russian musicians singing the song in some club (In London, I think) and then was the idea of recording it with Mary Hopkin. Here's a recording of the song from... 1926!!!

Ane:
Abe on the new album: Now beginning their second decade together, McCartney?s solo band is working on their fourth studio album. Six years since their last, ?Memory Almost Full? (McCartney?s most recent album, last year?s ?Kisses on the Bottom,? was a collection of Great American Songbook standards), they have ?a wealth of material? amassed, says Laboriel. ?It?s exciting,? he says. ?A lot of different styles. It?s very youthful ? aggressively rock at times, and singer-songwriter, insular and intimate, at others.? http://www.bostonglobe.com/arts/music/2013/07/04/keeping-beat-for-sir-paul/waAErTKnLpPaoG4sBDED6J/story.html
sounds like three words for me "rock and roll", and lots of songs...

by the way "listening party" sounds like an oxymoron to me... You can do a party and you can listen for the first time to a Paul's album, but you can't have both at the same time. If not it's not a real listen... or a real party.

I heartily agree!

BTW, Plato does sound like a guy who have enjoyed "We All Stand Together" "Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything." Plato

It looks like we could at least be given the title... and an approximate official release date. Don't we deserve even that much?

With the current tour winding down, I expect and hope we'll hear soon!

ewanme:
Typically, reviewers who say 'It's his best album in years' haven't actually listened to a McCartney album....in years.
Plus he's not released a real album (not including side-projects like KOTB) per say in what, 6 years? So technically they are right. *sarcasm*

Get On The Right Thing:
sorry if it is a repost...I am just now seeing this video. Wow. That is the King Of Cosmania. Love it. p.s.> wondering exactly what images are on the stained glass windows? and at the end of the video, the wall in Paul disappears into, looks like the one in the My Valentine video. just stuff I notice.
