Paul's upcoming album review they say its HOT!
-
Also, describing it as one of his favorite albums in the interview is very generic. It may be one of his favorite sets of recording sessions...I don't see anything saying it is equal to or better quality than the albums mentioned before it.

Paul has been under new management since 2007, so hopefully they will get it right this time. Driving Rain , Chaos, Memory all should have been number 1, but they were just badly promoted, and being a fan, those were frustrating times. I think macca should follow these 5 steps , and he'll hit #1 again . 1: Iheart Festival is a great Idea, it will be broadcasted live and it will be televised. Good strategy. Kids will hear the new songs, and they will buy the new album. 2: Have 1 single for all territories, no UK single or US single bs.....just one single for all territtories accompanied by a million dollar video featuring Leonardo di caprio, george clooney, pam anderson, and the chick from twilight 3: Do Tv appearances, interviews, and have billboards in major cities. 4: if you pre order the album, you get 1 free ticket to a warm up gig in LA - NY - London 5: new world tour featuring at least 10 songs from the new album, more wings and solo stuff, less beatles, new stage , new stories, and keep playing stadiums and festivals into 2014. 2015 - follow up album with new world tour featuring more wings and solo songs 2017 - follow up album and new world tour.

Yeah good luck with that... especially point number 1 !!!

actually good luck with all of that....very unrealistic. 10 songs from the new album..also never happen.

Based on the interviews so far, Ethan Johns produced four songs, Paul Epworth four and Mark Ronson three and there is no comment so far from Giles Martin. Perhaps there are also some self produced tracks as well.....?

Yeah, maybe four songs at the most. I can see his #4 suggestion, maybe, if you're put into a drawing by pre-ordering, and then get into a soundcheck or get a backstage pass or something if you win.

Giles has produced very little in his career, so I wonder if his role is more tying everything together? I can imagine Paul producing some, too.

So some reports say the album has been in the works for "over a year" while others say he's recorded 50+ songs. Was there actually a defined start for sessions for this album or have they been sporadic over a period of years? He's pretty much recording all the time, isn't he? Regardless of whether he has an album project in mind?

He probably lays down demo tracks but not really officially recording all year. The sessions started last year after the Grammy's when he decided to do what David Grohl did and do a rock and roll garage album. Who knows what happened with the initial tracks but later in the year he had some voice issues(Queen's Jubilee and Olympics) also rumors of having nodes removed (again who knows for sure). Around that time was an article about that he was unhappy the way his voice sounded and was going back into the studio. Very possible to have amassed 50 songs and another rumor states that the next Fireman album is halfway done. Hosanna seems to be the song around the longest

I'd imagine the 50+ songs include the 20 tracks he recorded with Geoff Emerick in 2009 that only produced one released track so far...a pretty forgettable tune (can't remember the title actually) for a De Niro movie. As usual Macca was all excited about being involved with another star and played it live in late 2009 to polite applause...

That was "(I Want To) Come Home." I liked that one, and thought it could have been a hit, but c'est la vie.

The song grew on me, but it wasn't Paul's best vocal.

I wanna come home wsas a decent song. I liked the way it came off live even if it was only in Europe. That and Come and Get it that leg. Even Come and Get it got very poor receptions at the shows I was at

If Paul was expecting a thunderous, immediate response to "Come And Get It," then he definitely over-estimated the general fans' knowledge of The Beatles' works. Most people associate that song with Badfinger. Still, that's no reason to yank it from the setlist so quickly.

Come And Get It sounded great when Paul played it in London in 2011, but most of the audience were underwhelmed by it, more fool their ignorance. : I must admit it really pisses me off that some" fans" are so unfamiliar with Paul's music apart from the fabs and a handful of Wings hits.
-
Yes, yet another example as to why he's careful about which solo tracks he plays live, and why his set is so dominated by Beatles tracks. After all, he's perceived as "The Beatle" at this point, carrying on the legacy (except for "With A Little Help From My Friends" and "Don't Pass Me By"et al...but didn't Paul do "Yellow Submarine" at one point a few years ago?). Worth noting that the first TWO episodes of "Glee" this coming season are dedicated to the Beatles' music, not Paul's solo work, even though he has a new album coming and these episodes seem clearly meant to be out there as the new album is being promoted. I know we would all be in heaven if he did a "Just For The Fans" tour, doing stuff like "Take It Away" and "I've Had Enough", maybe compiled by an online fan poll beforehand, but, you know, I think that imaginary scenario is about our only hope. If he has to go back and re-learn these old songs and put them in his regular setlist and the general public is just bored, then what's his motivation?

I absolutely love that song! I think it's as good as anything on Chaos, even fits in that album's style of writing.

From Twitter back in June from Giles Martin Giles Martin @mashupmartin 6 Jun You'd think once having been named "chief producer" I'd gain some respect. Then this appeared on the mix desk... http://t.co/64YownUk9I
