Paul's upcoming album review they say its HOT!
-
This puts all credibility of that Louisville DJ who posted that he heard the album back at Bonaroo..he described one song as sounding a bit like Penny Lane....I know another person who got a preview and said the same thing....very high bar to set

and yes, irritating as all heck that there is no "real time" news on this site. You would figure that you'd get current news on the artists official site!! I wrote Stuart Bell a lengthy email which I never received an answer to stating as such. I like his little blogs but it's always news months out of date, the fans deserve a better pipeline to artist news.

How true! This needs to be the breaking news site for the latest on albums and concerts. Instead, especially in the instance of this new album, news is imported here from elsewhere and therefore some of it is suspect.
-
Idon't know that I'd call them suspect...they are news articles doing interviews with at least two of the producers that worked on the album. But it is definitely a shame that the ONE SITE which should have breaking news and updates is the one so far behind agencies and sites that have nothing to do with pm.com. This is where this site fails miserably!!!
-
tried to find the Epsome article with "Struggle"...unable to find it anwhere with google. Do you have a link?
-
London Evening Standard...found it....never mind. So all five tracks confirmed by interviews with their Producers

Bob Gannon:
I still can't remember a new release shrouded in this much secrecy...hoping for a real winner
Me too Bob! Bugger all details about the sessions and still, weeks out from dropping, no album title and no single title. Nuttin' !!! Here's hoping this is a classic in the real sense of the word. On a sidenote - Q would have to be the most Beatles friendly publication "out there". So Q and Uncut have big new album features in the next issues...
-
Surely next week at the very latest there should be some announcement. The McCartney Team is perhaps worried that no one would be paying attention in August. Still, some kind of official teaser at least would seem to be in order by now!

I have to disagree. Not releasing information before they're ready to release it isn't a failure, it's marketing strategy. These things are all carefully timed to build up to the week of release. It never ceases to amaze me how people operating on nothing but rumor can assume they know best what's going on and how it should be handled.

Well Bruce, No matter what the marketing strategy...information has been leaking since late in 2012 about some of the songs and I doubt that this is part of any marketing strategy. But my point being, is that it is a shame that one must rely on various bits and pieces of news articles to get any information on an up and coming release. Other artists have info about recording and in progress albums, I'm sure their sales don't suffer any. If you can't rely on the artists own site for some info...can't give away the whole ball of wax but something. The only news this sites gives is OLD news..sometimes months old!

PDS:
Posted this before from Feb this year with Paul Epworth ...another song title "Struggle" and also says its a co write. And then he plays me, at ear-zinging volume, one of the songs he?s written and recorded with Paul McCartney for his next album. It?s called ?Struggle?, and sounds like Macca?s greatest non-Beatles song. But that?s not too hard. ?It could be a defining statement for him,? Epworth says of their four-song collaboration, ?especially [considering] where he is in his career??
Huh? "Struggle" sounds like "Maybe I'm Amazed"? Not sure I'm getting his point.

Or years! Yes, I mean, the last two news items are of a live performance from weeks before, and a piece about the thirteenth anniversary of the release of "Liverpool Sound Collage"(??). Without giving anything specific away, couldn't they at least have an item like "Paul Very Excited About New Album" or even something vague like "Big Surprise Coming For McCartney Fans This Fall: Stay Tuned"? Letting all these little news items just sit out there unacknowledged makes them look kind of clueless. Paul actually SPOKE to Rolling Stone; can't his website acknowledge and promote that? I know, the marketing push that's coming will probably be immense, but I agree with Bob more than Bruce: a little teaser won't hurt sales, especially now that it's definitely set to come out this fall. If this current strategy is meant to be "viral," it's a little lame. Not sure if anyone's noticed, but there's going to be a Beatles "Live at the BBC, Vol. 2" coming out at the beginning of October. That's clearly meant to be part of the ramp up to Paul's new album, along with iHeartRadio and the two Beatles-themed "Glee" episodes.
-
That was exactly my point, nobody expects to give the whole album away but just a little something here and there.

No kidding. And they've done at least a couple of "surveys" of what people want to see, too! That "ask Paul a question" thing has to be the lamest of all the "improvements" to this site, too. "What's your favorite color, Paul, and why?" "Glad you asked, Jim. It's blue. Like my youngest daughter's eyes". Or whatever. :

Paul just tweeted one word "castle"...

DanTheFan:
I can already imagine Alligator, a Squeeze-style pop rock song, opening with... "SAY YOU DON'T LOVE HIM, MY ALLIGATOR"
This one is intriguing to me! I love animal-based songs, especially by Paul. Jenny Wren. Blackbird. Single Pigeon. Two Magpies. Wild Life. Little Lamb Dragonfly... Inspired me to write my own songs, Penguin, Grasshopper and Panda Bear. This actually came up in a thread of mine where we were looking for songs on themes and one theme was "alligators". Obviously there's "See you later alligator" and who knows if the new Macca song is in some way a tribute to that? But through that game I discovered this awesome song as well, by Roky Erikson:
Let's see if Paul can come up with a better alligator-based track than that! -

Hmmm...

now it's "born"... Something is imminent.
-
ditto.....hmmmmm. Album title? Song title? God, I hope the new single doesn't suck. I find it worrisome that some of the new producers are quoted that they don't question Paul for any of his choices or the material he brings in. I still get the feeling that Paul is surrounded by yes men. It would be really cool if he could blow us away with a killer new song....

Did Paul just break Twitter? Seems messed up wherever I go.
