Supposedly Mark Ronson. The horns! I knew Ronson would bring the live horns!
Means more ropey fake horns if he plays it live. The song is growing on me.

Ok, where's my detractors that said my timeline was wrong!!!!! I said end of August and here it is!!!!!!!!! Still plenty of tracks left over too that were not used on deluxe edition. Let's hope for b-sides
-
The song has a very "warm" quality to it. The production matches Paul's heartfelt vocals. "Ever Present Past" was too robotic for my tastes.
-
This is so good it makes Ever Present Past stink!
-
Gees, it's already stuck in my head. Especially the: "Don't look at me ..." and "Ooooooooohhh."
-
I've listened to this 9 times already in less than 50 minutes! I think i'm gonna take a break until tommorow!

I can't!

in an interview Ronson said he produced New Alligator and another track yet to be named
-
The song would fit nicely on Ram. Sounds more 70s Paul than Beatles. Brilliant.

The single also reminds me slightly of the Rutles "Doubleback Alley" which is itself a "Penny Lane" pastiche! Had it on repeat for past hour - best first single since "Fine Line", roll on 14th October!!
The song is too short! That's my only complaint! Still that's a great trick with a jaunty, catchy positive song!!!

Agreed. That was one song I could never get into. Still skip it when I listen to MAF. I think it tried too hard to be modern - if you get my drift.

Summed it up beautifully.

would Love if it was a bit longer--- I say it's Quaint= NEW!
-
After about a half hour of thinking, I finally remembered another song that it reminds me of, although it's another '67 pastiche that wouldn't exist without "Penny Lane": John Wesley Harding's "Congratulations (On Your Hallucinations)" from 2009.
I'm sure there are endless additional bouncy harpsichord tunes that would pop up in people's minds! -
I love the lil harmonies bit at the end...

Me too. Like it, very catchy and IMO very radio friendly.

1967, Sgt. Peppers? It's OK, but it sounds like a leftover from Memory Almost Full
