Nice enough, but Paul was definitely right to shelve it. Ringo's drumming and Lynne's production were exactly what that song needed.
and then are some minor changes Paul did to the song, like singing the chorus earlier, changing the bridge chords, changing a rock band for an orchestra directed by George Martin... The video of the making of Beautiful Night is a personal delight of mine... it is Paul telling how every bit of the song must be. Genius at work... like when he says to George Martin how the orchestra must play. And then there's the fast ending... the making of Beautiful Night (... in 1997)
