PMS (Pre-McCartney Syndrome)
-
In my excitement at going to my first Paul McCartney concert next week, I wrote this up, just for fun If anyone wants to add anything else, maybe we can start a support group ========================= Ladies, just before a Paul McCartney concert, do you suffer from one or all of these symptoms? 1. Restless Nights 2. Lack of focus and concentration (i. e., staring off into space and twirling your hair....) 3. Unable to say his name without giggling or smiling. 4. Looking in mirror and doubting self worth. 5. Buying clearasil for sudden adolescent break-outs 6. Combing hair alot and wanting to go to the mall. 7. Obsessive searching for "I Love Paul" buttons on Ebay. 8. Friends politely nodding head but not listening to a word you're saying. 9. Constantly singing and dancing to Na na na na-na-na-na...na-na-na-na.. Hey Jude 10. Occasional bloating from eating too many vegetarian soy products. Then you may be suffering from Pre-McCartney Syndrome. If you're diagnosed with one or all of these symptoms, drink plenty of fluids, take a long walk, get plenty of rest, and attend the nearest Paul McCartney concert. The symptoms should alleviate within 24 hours, but smiling and happy thoughts may continue for up to two weeks. *Use only as directed.*

LOL! That is awesome, LadyLeslie. I know the feeling well. My first McCartney concert was in 1993 and the anticipation was incredible. I've seen him 3 more times since 2011 and I may have been older but the buildup is still there. Enjoy the experience (like I need to say that ) and have fun. I'll be envying you since I'm sitting this year out.
-
Thanks, Denise! Appreciated your kind words very much I will enjoy the experience, and hopefully will have so much fun, I won't get a chance to faint! Will be sure and write a full report later It's wonderful you were able to experience seeing Paul and Linda in concert in 1993, and have seen him a few other times. Hopefully you'll be able to see him again in the not too distant future

Yes, I'd like to see him on a different tour next time. Saw him last year in Grand Rapids on One on One. Still very grateful to have seen Linda on her last tour. She had awesome energy onstage. Was a pretty big fan of hers outside of Paul due to her cookbooks and animal advocacy.

Oh me, too, I'm just as much a fan of her as I am of Paul. I admire her so much, for the same reason. Luckily there's still videos out there of her in concert with Paul, that's available for people to see.

I'm a very big admirer of Linda as well. Loved her voice with Paul's and especially her photography. She was a one of a kind person...love when they have shows of her photography.
-
Yeah one of these symptoms is me. Especially number 7. LOL
-
Yeppers for an intoxicating feeling of being a teen again, LOL
-
I think I feel about 11 years old, as Paul was my first crush on a musician type crush at 11. Sometimes I still think of cutting out the photos and putting them on my closet doors, like I did back then... However, I do have a couple of great professional Beatles framed photos now. #8 applies to me, except for my best friends, who are PAUL fans too!

Ok, wanted to bump this thread to add another symptom, lol:
11. Mood swings, irritability and depression may occur just before tour dates are announced, due to the irrational fear there will be no announcements. The symptoms usually subside when Ticketmaster begins listing venues and seating charts.

Temporarily experienced PMS when trying to get info on the Austin City Limits festival during my lunch break yesterday! Couldn’t find info on the festival, to book tickets. I thank my boyfriend JL4761 for helping me calm down and we got all booked. Hope we see some of our other fellow forum friends there!!! It’s gonna be a fun festival.

Does PMS (Pre-McCartney Syndrone) symptoms also apply to men?

LOL I was going to say, without forcing LadyLeslie's metaphor , the nervous speculation about future events is one thing, but when the tickets go on sale is when my real anxiety and irritability start, between coordinating with other constraints & potential companions, a bazillion presales, packages, and options, ticketing site technical nightmares and pricing games, and planning logistics for local and/or long-distance travel. It all vanishes only when Paul is onstage in front of me playing music. I've thought many times how concerts, Paul's in particular, rank near the top of both my greatest joy and stress lists!

Not a bad thing, it's just what they'd prefer. Doesn't matter to me though, as long as Paul is the one singing, and I can hear him, I'm content with whatever he chooses

Great thread LadyLeslie!

When it comes to attending concerts, Paul McCartney is the best entertainer of all time. I always feel like there is Love, Happiness and Peace during a Paul McCartney concert.
