FourFiveSeconds- new collab. with Rihanna, Kanye and Paul

Love Elvis or hate him, he changed the course of popular music and influence millions. Same with the Beatles. Here is one test: Will anyone do cover versions of the sounds Kanye is creating today in, say, ten years, or twenty years, or fifty years? Paul McCartney cut his teeth playing and singing Elvis tunes. Millions have cut their teeth playing and singing Beatle songs. How many covers of Kanye West are out there?

Webster's says musician is "a person skilled in music, as a composer or one who plays a musical instrument or sings, especially for a living."

There are lots of Kanye covers. There's a whole generation that loves him. A generation may be all that it takes, regardless of what our generation thinks. Not saying he's "better or greater" than the Beatles, just that his reputation and influence were established before the world knew his face or public antics, and before anyone had ever seen a Kardashian on TV."And now it's all...this."

Can you give an example of a work composed by Kanye and covered by another popular artist? Not being provocative, I just am interested in this sort of thing.

I think it's a bit silly comparing The Beatles and Kanye West....Kanye will never be remembered in the way The Beatles are.

I like that. You know ... Musicians, to me, are also those people who seem kind of "naked" when they are on stage without an instrument.

By any generation. He did not change the world. Or even a part of that change.

A capella group Pentatonix (who just won a Grammy today) did an amazing rendition of Love Lockdown on The Sing-Off:
I'm not a big Kanye fan, but I know a lot of people who revere his artistry and consider him groundbreaking. They're generally not Beatle fans, though, so I don't think you're going to find much crossover in this discussion. That doesn't mean he's not talented or less worthy of working with Paul than Lady Gaga just because he's in a different genre. parlance -
That is an example! Thanks for that.
-
Sgt._Pepper:
Was it me or was McCartney's mic off, I could not hear him? Other than that, think the song sounded pretty good.
-
F the grammy's for muting Paul's microphone.

MetalGod:

Heck yes, glad it was not me.

I liked the song and performance but I also could swear they had Paul's Mic off.
