JAMES McCARTNEY

Does he have talent? The name will only get you in the door. I've only seen 1 of his songs/videos performed live & it was just o.k. Nothing stood out. Doesnt matter how much $$ you have, everyone has to find their calling in life on their own.

[ Whatever odd jobs James worked, he never HAD to work them to make ends meet. Just like Stella admits that, while she has taken a lot of risks in her fashion business, she's acknowledged that it's a heck of a lot easier to take those risks when you know that you're not going to lose everything if you fail. You're not going to be homeless or bankrupt. Dad will be there to catch you if/when you fall.
Actually based on some interviews last year, he did. After Linda died James felt lost, and when Paul married Heather he moved to Brighton and literally did not get in touch with any of his family for years, using various drugs as well, it was in an interview - it quoted Paul saying that they knew in the end after trying to reach him that they had to let him have his own path and one day he would come back to the family, and years later he did - probably why Paul looks so proud on those first photos of James (thin James) hanging out with him and his sisters at showboz dos in 2007 (Not that it's the same as my money worries etc! I know that... but what i mean is he wasn't getting money from his family, he had cut them off, he had to work or just live on what he had for a while)

He looks so thin there.

From what I've read in various places, all of the kids inherited money from Linda. He always had access to money. Even if he went off to live on his own and support himself for a while, there was no real risk to that since he knew someone would always be able to bail him out financially. I don't begrudge James his privileges. We all take advantage of the connections we have in life. But I don't feel like he bore any great burden from those privileges, either. And he remains a heck of a lot luckier and better off than 99% of musicians.

James Mc. has loads of music talent, I love his ethereal angelic singing voice and exceptional lyrics and melodies to his songs, and he's no slouch at guitar playing...wonder where he got all that from?

So, the timeline I'm gathering is: James plays on Flaming Pie, which comes out in 1997; Linda dies in 1998, which devastates him (understandably); at some point, he falls into drug abuse and wandering in and out of jobs on his own, but cleans up by 2007; he puts out two EPs and plays live in 2010-11; he falls back into drug abuse but then gets clean again, declaring in early 2013 that he's "six months sober"; he puts out his Me album in 2013, with Paul's help. That's a pretty complicated journey. It's anyone's guess what restrictions may have been placed on his finances, through legal or personal agreements. But you're right, he's never been in the kind of danger that non-famous people can be. I doubt we'll ever know for sure.

Is he out of shape?
He's about 40-50 pounds overweight.
But he's vegetarian!
So is B.B. King. Seriously.
-
Giraffes are vegetarians too. But they look nothing like James McCartney or B.B. King.
-
Vegetarian meat pies and gravy. And lots of 'em!!!
-
What about sugar? Chocolate and stuff, if you have a sweet tooth, or what it's called in English. It's not only meat that makes you gain weight : Also, I think James looks better with a little weight, he looks a little thin and pale on the picture with Paul.

Being the only son of the most famous musician in the world can't be easy.
Actually I think James, as a musician, has had it very very easy in many ways. Look at the connections he has. Look at the opportunities, the people he's met. He's been able to live his whole life without having to get a real job or worry about money. Most artists are not so lucky.
That's all true. He'll never starve. But if you're a musician and your father is Paul McCartney, there's no way everything you play isn't going to be compared with your father. At least Stella could design dresses without the critics comparing her new line with Band On the Run or Sgt Pepper.

Reminds me of a song by Pulp I agree. Even if he went homeless, he always knew he had Paul's help if he wanted it. It's sad he's had so many personal issues, particularly with drugs. He took Linda's passing the hardest it seems, and understandably so. He was the youngest and still living with Paul and Linda, didn't have a family of his own like his sisters did. And then shortly afterwards Paul had Heather move in... Seems also he didn't reconcile with Paul and the rest of his family until Paul and Heather split up. BTW, I don't think the kinds got anything from Linda?, I seem to remember she left everything to Paul?. I think her will was even online. PS: I think James is actually a vegan. But you can still gain weight (bread and the like, sugar, alcohol).

As having grown up with my Dad dying suddenly at age 12, I did my fair share Of crazy things. I am still alive and in great health by the grace of God, And with a little help from some nice friends. So I can relate to James. If I can make it, so can James! I send him positive, creative, constructive vibes. He will be fine and can accomplish anything he wants to do in Life.
-
I have listened to or checked out (I haven't bought his debut yet) some of his music and it's not so bad. I think it takes some time to find your own voice as an artist and for me who has listened to Paul for a lifetime, it will probably take some time to be able to hear James without linking... It's promising enough, so far... we'll see where the music will take him in the future.
-
IMHO, James waited too long to launch a musical career. This year he will be 38!
-
Here's James doing Gimme Shelter...

Sounds good, but what idiot filmed that and cut off the top of James' head?!

Yes, James is basically the same age now as his Dad was during the final Wings UK tour. James has a lot of catching up to do career wise.
