Highline Ballroom New York City- 10th Anniversary
-
Can't believe it's 10 years since Paul played his first ever secret gig in the U.S. at New York City's Highline Ballroom. My son and I along with many other "fans on the run" were treated to an AMAZING night of "McCartney"!! That night ranks as one of my top three Paul McCartney experiences...going back to 1976. Just wondering, how many here attended that show...or the Amoeba concert in L.A. two weeks later?

_____________________________________________________ DrivingFan, I kind of remember seeing clips of the show but just to help my memory... What were some of the Solo or Wings songs that he did that night. If I'm not mistaken wasn't that during the Memory Almost Full period.

I was also there, really fun memorable night. I was so happy he did "Calico Skies", my first time seeing that one. The "Memory Almost Full" songs sounded great, "House Of Wax" was a highlight. Wix was M.I.A. for this show, I think Paul said he was already booked for a different gig. 10 years already wow!!

I was there!

I was at the Highline. What an incredible experience. I managed to be right in the front by where Paul's monitor was.. He was sort of forced to look at my friend and I a lot during the show and was definitely making eye contact. Phenomenal show and in such an intimate setting. A once in a lifetime experience I will never forget.

The night of the concert I was telling my wife I had just got tickets (2) and my 10 year old son asked what time we were going to the show. So my wife and son went and all I got was a t shirt out of the deal. From what I heard it was a great concert.

What happened to the web site dedicated to that album that had videos of songs and fans outside the Highline and I think the Amoeba?

http://www.meyesight.com/ Looks like it has been removed; the link now takes you to an Eastman & Eastman landing page. ;). I tried the Wayback Machine, which is usually reliable. There are tons of captures but the ones I tested don't show anything but a blank grey screen. I remember there was animation on the home page so maybe the Wayback couldn't capture it properly. If anyone else has better luck, let us know!

I was there--what a show! Watching Paul go effortlessly from instrument to instrument, bantering with the crowd (who knew all the Memory Almost Full songs even though it had just come out ), it was the perfect way to see Paul in concert! When asked by the audience, where was Wix, (who was not with band that night) Paul told us he was planning an event for The Queen (Ooooo, said the audience, veddy impressed). We sang "Happy Birthday" to Paul, who then blew out his microphone. Yes, it is really too bad that the website was taken down, as it had videos of the fans lining up and then talking about seeing Paul, after the show. (My avatar photo was taken there--Paul clowning with a flower from one of the several bouquets he had received from fans.)

Thanks for posting that link! It has some long-lost clips of fans that were on the Memory Almost Full website.
