I can't find video of this, but I recall Paul mentioning during an interview that he had been doing his obligatory, "All right _______________(fill in the name of the city here), we are here to rock you!" bit, and he said the name of the wrong city. I think the crowd's response was to laugh, and that the reviews said he hadn't lost his Beatles cheekiness and humor, playing with the crowd by naming the wrong city, lol. They thought it was intentional, for humor's sake, while Paul had honestly flubbed the city name. Gotta love our Paul.
I don't remember which city he was in; I think it was the 1990 tour, but he thought he was in Pittsburgh if I remember it right... He said something like "PEOPLE OF PITTSBURGH....YOU ARE NOT!"
Classic Paulie!

Don't know if there is a video of this...but on 7/21 at citi field, during I Saw her Standing There, he started to go into the solo when it was really a verse
Found it! 00:28
Oops! He thought it was time for the guitar solo when he was supposed to do a bridge. -
Dunno if this has been posted but here's She's a Woman from the 04 tour where Paul trips up over the lyrics and it all falls apart from about 1:05 to 1:30 prompting Abe to shout "It's live!"! haha
-
And here's a MASSIVE mistake in Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five at the Royal Albert Hall gig in march! He tried to completely miss the cool piano bit and jump straight on to the "oooo" bit which throws EVERYONE out!

Just a bit! It's almost cringeworthy how wrong it goes!

Really?! Well for people like us who do know he went wrong...it's a biggie! Though to be fair Paul and the band did handle it well!
-
Well if they noticed I was the only one hysterically shouting "he's made a big mistake" "he's totally lost" "Proves it's live!"
-
Maybe THAT is the problem & the end result of playing the same songs gig after gig...they think oh yeah, I got this one...no need to practice much. Yeah? LOL!

Listening via headphones, I can faintly hear a small voice in the audience yelling that very thing.

"Highway" (live @ Coachella Fest 2009):
Paul is a little shaky with the first verse, but, eh, at the time it was newly added to the setlist, so no worries. -
This is one of my favourite threads. I think most people think it's endearing when Paul screws up. Even when you know the words and sang a song hundreds of times it's still easy to forget sometimes. That's just how memory works.

Skip to 25:40 "What?" HahahAt first, I thought that it was a deliberate joke ("...take these sunken eyes and learn to 'read'..."), but when he stopped himself to start over, it was clear that it was a boo-boo.
