Do you think deliberately skipped the guitar-solo at 00:30? Paul McCartney & "Sir"vana Long Tall Sally (live @ Seattle 7-19-2013):

Don't know if there is a video of this...but on 7/21 at citi field, during I Saw her Standing There, he started to go into the solo when it was really a verse
Found it! 00:28
Oops! He thought it was time for the guitar solo when he was supposed to do a bridge.I love Rusty's panic look when he does the solo scream too early It's like 'Ahh! What do we do?'

You can say that again!

I'm pretty sure I caught a couple instances in Regina but I can't remember exactly what they were. I think he got befuddled and sang verse 2 in verse 1 as it happened to come to mind first. But I forget the song. If someone else can jog my memory...
-
Not sure if this one has been shared. Paul played the closing-riff of "Only Mama Knows" on his bass prematurely at 03:05: "Only Mama Knows" (live on Jools Holland 2007):

Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite! He sang "The Hendersons will dance and sing as Mr. Kite flies through the ring, don't be late" as the first lyric of that verse, and then had nothing to rhyme it with, so he just improvised for the rest of the stanza After the song was over he said "You know, it's funny. I was just saying on that radio interview today how this is the most difficult song to perform, and well, I guess I just proved that for you. Oh well, can't get them all right!"

Thanks! I think it happened in something else though. That song is somewhat of a mishmash of words to me, so I wouldn't catch him getting it wrong. I was pretty sure he did it in another song though.

Definitely possible! I didn't catch any others, so I'm sorry I can't help

Sometimes, the things we've done on countless occasions just flat-out escape us. I remember years ago when Sting was on VH-1: Storytellers, and he started to play an acoustic version of an old Police song ("Message In A Bottle"?), and he completely forgot the opening chords and lyrics. He said (paraphrasing), "I can't believe this -- I play this song at home every night!" It happens.

at the first US show in Orlando, he was pretty much glued to the teleprompter during this song. I noticed at later shows that he was trying not to look at it so much and make more eye contact during the song as he normally does. It was in Indy, I think, that he started out barely looking at the prompter at all, then got to the second verse and sang two lines of utter gibberish . Back to reading the prompter he went. Agree that he has a lot to do during this song, but his bass playing on it is SO WONDERFUL, that I forgive him for the lyric slipups.

Absolutely! Musically/vocally it sounded amazing, so the one line of total nonsense was completely forgivable (and pretty adorable).

I love this thread.....but the best bit is he always seems to chuckle at himself for forgetting words that he has been singing for decades...gotta love him for that!!

i've always wondered how is he able to remember all these lyrics ,it's not easy people, for me it would be imposible!when i try to learn a song and record it in my home i'm always anxious cause i'm afraid i will forget the lyrics and i only have to record 1 song without the pressure of any public!
He uses a teleprompter. Well, a teleprompter is part of his set -- not sure how often he uses it. He definitely relied on it when "Nineteen Hundred And Eighty-Five" was added to the setlist last year.
Kind of funny but one time at McCartney concert I took a bunch of pictures. When reviewing the pictures I saw the teleprompter in one of the shots and I could actually read the words - lol

He's gonna need it for sure when he starts performing songs from the new album. Nothing wrong with that.

I agree. Think about being 71 and remembering every lyric and note to approx 35 songs in 2 1/2 to 3 hrs. Yes, he has played many of these songs numerous times but the mind can be a tricky thing even at a young age. For example, I am huge baseball fan and I can remember all kinds of statistics from many years back. That being said, my wife has asked me to go to grocery to buy a couple of items and I have to call her on the cell sometimes to ask what she needed when I am in the grocery. - lol

Well then that shows why he won't change the setlist much. And of course, reading the signs can be hard too!

Paul performed three, brand-new songs this past Saturday -- and he didn't miss a beat. Also, I didn't see any teleprompters. Or, at least, I don't recall seeing any.
-
How about when Paul changes the lyrics, and then never changes them back? "In the town they're searching for us everywhere / BUT... We're never gonna be fou-hound! Whoa no!"
