WINGS FUN CLUB - recollections?
-
I enjoyed reading through this thread Lots of good memories I looked forward to every Club Sandwich When they offered a chance to buy tickets to his concerts ..... I got the information on how many tickets per concert etc ..... they needed a "Certified check..." Within minutes I was getting a certified check .... had the return envelope and mailed it one blur I didn't want to miss my chance on getting tickets .... (This was the Palace in Auburn Hills, Michigan) When I went to the concert ..... one usher took us to another usher and 2 of them led me to my seat ..... (* I knew it was going to be good and this close ... it still was roughly 10 rows back .... no complaints it was GREAT! ) I could see Paul's thumb had a black mark on it (when you hit your nail and days later it looks like that ) .... that is how close it was The program books were Awesome and free ..... I was offered tickets again ..... this time I stood in line for tickets at home and bought tickets for Chicago then Cincinnati through the Club. It was row 10 but way way over .... Again no complaints - it was Paul

I remember getting the phone call for free tickets to see Paul at the Lyceum in NYC. What a thrill!

I got tired of scrolling, trying to find an appropriate, existing thread to share this, so I figured this one was, at least, marginally germane. I was not aware that Wings' Henry McCullough formed a working band post his tenure with Wings. Here's a full set of of Henry McCullough live in 1976 :

I got lucky and won Club Sandwiches 08 to 18 (11 issues) on ebay, with all inserts (posters, order forms, etc.) and even the original stamped envelopes from a fan who kept them stored for over 30 years! Now I just need issues 01-07 and 51 to complete my collection. If someone has spare copies, please let me know. ![](http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Paul-McCartney-Wings-fan-club-collection-1978-79-Club-Sandwich-8-Beatles-/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/$T2eC16FHJF0E9nmFQWI-BQ(S49RBKQ

Someone is offering his collection of Club Sandwich magazines on ebay for US$1.949,00! And it's not even a complete one, it's missing a few issues. That's just crazy.

The collection has been split in two auctions: one for $999 and the other for $950.

My package has just arrived. I'm amazed by the fact that the previous owner kept all of the original envelopes from the UK, the sheets with fan club offers, the posters and all magazines carefully stored since he received them in 1978-1980. A real fan!

And how much did you pay? If you don't mind me being nosey.
-
About $8 - $11 per issue, including offer sheets, posters, etc. The seller seemed happy to know he was selling them to a true fan like himself.
-
I just saw a bunch on ebay & looks like he wants $17-18 ea.
-
The first 20 or 30 issues are harder to find on ebay, but you will see the others all the time.
-
Someone is selling the first 40 & then the 2nd 44 or so. I forgot the quantities. It was $750.00 for each group.
-
Yes, I have seen those auctions. Good luck to that seller! Here are the pictures: Sometimes you get lucky and find someone who wants to sell a bunch for a reasonable price. It's always cheaper to buy issues from a single seller, as you can save on postage.
-
A fan paid one hundred bucks on eBay for just one of mine which featured a pic of Linda McCartney's brother and there was some more special stuff in that one, can't recall what exactly I wonder how often Paul plays Wings albums. When he does he must think "Wow we really rocked out on those, they're super" (?). Seems he would think something along those lines
-
100 dollars for a single issue? That's got to be a record.
-
Peeps are really money mad when it comes to holding auctions for Club Sandwich & related items.
-
I still have all of my Issues, and I'd never sell them. My Kids get them when I die. Along with my McCartney Collection. I cannot imagine letting go of my Club Sandwiches.

How much was it to be a member of the Fun Club?
