I think Macca will be back with a bang with this next album. Especially with Mark Ronson producing. I'm a fan of Ronson's work so it will be interesting to hear the finished product. But hey, after Kisses on the Bottom then whatever he releases next is bound to be amazing by comparison! I know we'll not get the album til the start of next year, but...I can't help it...I'M EXCITED ALREADY!

it does not bother or excite me too much that 'mark ronson' will be the producer of this next album as far as 'sound' is concerned. macca has the habit of getting his own sound through no matter who the producer is. i declare exhibit A ....'flaming pie'. travelling willbury lynesque collection it is NOT.

You are correct as usual Lazy. Although if it did come out sounding Ronsonesque it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. And the fact he's working with a popular artist and producer who is very current and 'down with the kids' will do no harm at all!

The fact it keeps sporadically popping up in the news that so-and-so is helping on the new album makes me think that he IS committed to it and will see it through to release without being sidetracked! That fact alone is exciting lol

Like Josh, I am a fan of Ronson's work so I'm excited about this. What ever happened to the rumours that he was working with Ethan Johns? I like his work even more. Like lazy said though, Paul's own sound always tends to come through, I'm just super excited about some new material!

and PLEASE let it be on the pop/rock charts. NO SURPRISES as far as that goes.

Exactly. I just think the time thats lapsed since his last 'proper' record that he has something special in the pipeline. Well creatively, based on his last 5 or 6 albums, he has written some of his very best stuff.

Well he'll have the tracks, it'd be Ronson's job to mix it all together and produce it and make it sound goooood!

Good news indeed, at the end of the day the songs will have to be good though...and the singing, the Queen's concert the other day was not too encouraging in that department...

Unless, of course, he's starting over from scratch... I wouldn't be surprised, nor would I blame him - he's got to get it 'right' (whatever that means). Didn't I get the idea somewhere that he wasn't satisfied with the 'rock' tracks he'd done, presumably with Dave Grohl?
