Paul Collaborates On World Premiere NYC Ballet
-
I thought Visa got priority on that tour! Anyway, it`s certainly been going on a long time. It`s a bit late to get upset about it! Were you planning to go to the ballet in New York, no words? I suspect this is some deal that actually doesn`t have anything to do with Paul.

I seem to recall Visa being involved in that tour somehow....but I also recall I only had a Visa or Mastercard at the time and had to bug my mom to use her Amex card...LOL

The tour was sponsored by Visa, and Paul and Linda appeared in a commercial! I thought you could only buy tickets with a Visa card. I heard stories of fans being in tears because they could not buy tickets!

If only I was rich! P.S. The 2nd article got it wrong! He's an M.B.E. not O.B.E.!

AMEX is partnered with a lot of venues and promoters. It is the venue and/or promoter that does the AMEX presale not Paul.

This is what happens with the AMEX card. Has nothing to do with Paul whatsoever. Crowd Surge doesn't care if you use AMEX or another card.

It's selling out big style

To clarify his statue, he is a Knight Bachelor and is an MBE, not an OBE or KBE. from Wikipedia: It is possible to be a Knight Bachelor and a junior member of an order of chivalry without being a knight of that order; this situation has become rather common, especially among those recognised for achievements in entertainment. For instance, Sir Elton John and Sir Christopher Lee are Commanders of the Order of the British Empire (CBE), Sir Patrick Stewart is an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), and Sir Paul McCartney is a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE). None of them would be entitled to the honorific "Sir" by virtue of their O.B.E. honours. However, all are also Knights Bachelor and thus each may preface their name with that title

The music to this ballet will be just beautiful, I'm sure. Dreamy

It's not selling out. All tours need a corporate sponsor. In 05 it was Lexus and MasterCard. If you think tickets were expensive this year..... I imagine they would a lot higher without a corporate sponsor of some type.
-
AMEX is not his corporate sponsor. AMEX partners with venues, ticket services like Ticketmaster and promoters to offer presales.

Paul has said so on many occasions that he has no problem making money. Why should he? Not only is he a genius musician, he's also an astute business man.

I can certainly appreciate that - why should he give up the house for free?

No, I guess Paul should not be concerned about any of his fans that cannot afford this type of show. I suppose all The Beatles, Wings, and solo Paul albums I bought over the years that helped him make money, mean nothing either. Sounds elitist to me. Just mho, don't mind me.

It`s a ballet, this is how much it costs. I suspect cheaper seats will be available. Nowords-I think you are bored and trying to cause a row on here. Why don`t you start another thread about dogs?

watch it, honey. Doggies can bite. (that was an uncalled for jab, you know). I know that H-P was the corporate sponser for this tour. I have noticed that since I joined this board I get more junk mail from Amex...(I actually got that to stop by writing them and all the credit cards a very potent letter years ago). Wasn't ballet always the bastion of the rich upper class? Seems like it should be expensive. (I've been but I don't know how much it cost since someone else treated to get me into the art form).

Where is this 'Amex' you speak of???
-
I just came up with a cool idea! Maybe Paul or Amex can sponsor a free ballet show of "Ocean's Kingdom" for inner city children? Like one show at least for free just to give a cultural experince to children who would not otherwise be able to see such a thing. It could inspire one of those children to become something great in life? Just an idea...

It's short for Amercian Express, a credit card company. they used to be known for making you pay for the priviledge of having one. I know a lot of buisinesses use them. I just hate getting all the junk mail. They didn't want me back when I was young because they don't take risk on people getting their first cards. Now that I've got incredible credit, they won't leave me alone. My response to them,"Your loss." How much are these ballett tickets going for?

Thank you for your explanation!! It seems once you get involved with a company - credit card, holiday etc - they never leave you alone with their junk mail! Grrrr..
