Wix Wickens!!!

I liked his rowdy harmonica on the new "highway" video pretty badass for an English gentleman
-
The man looks so right with a glass of wine in his hand...! lol
-
Haha Wow, great comments guys!
-
I would like to point out how in the book for GENYC, it says that the band is just fivce guys doing there thing...NO brass, NO strings, NO backup singers....just five guys Also, I love the one part where the girl is like "Who's Paul McCartney? I'm here to see Wix Wickens!" I thought it was great!!! For those of you musing already....thats not me! I'm a he!

Interesting how nobody seems to know the role of a Musical Director and seem happy guessing. A MD 'compiles' the show and is pretty much the live version of a what a Producer is to an album. Wix is a very talented man, but I am amongst those wishing that most of his keyboard parts could be replaced by live, analogue, instruments.

Why would Wix be signing a drumhead? He doesn't play the drums? Does he? Well, I guess saving a drumhead is a lot easier than a keyboard. Did you buy it?

Just saw Wix on t.v. last night -- the 50th anniversary concert for the Stratocaster guitar in '05.
-
Cool! did he play with anyone?
-
He was in the house band, directed by guitarist Phil Palmer. He did some fancy ivory-tickling during Albert Lee's set! (Alvin Lee?)

It's from a few years ago, but, like yourself, I was totally unaware of the concert. If you guys don't have the Palladia channel, I highly recommend it. All they show are live concerts, including Paul's '07 Roundhouse gig (with the audio track too slow, unfortunately).

I dont have palladia, but that gets played on VH1 Classic sometimes...I really wasn't too impressed with it.

You weren't impressed with the Macca thing? If not, I'm sure it's because of the audio track running at a half-step less speed. Just like the Get Back home-video. Horrible. Speaking of: Wix looks almost like a baby in that concert-film!
