What’s your favorite 3 album run from Macca?
-
CMackbird:
Ram is my favourite album but Im not a huge fan of Wild Life so with that I would go with Red Rose Speedway, Band On The Run, Venus & Mars as his strongest 3 consecutive albums.
I?m right there with you CMack! RRS, BOTR and V&M are simply impeccable, and very kick arse. McCartney was literally the man for those 2 yrs, no one doing it better, no one cooler. (Linda's awesome!) I like those three you mentioned as well steveramon, no flies on that run. ![](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/3/3b/FlowersDirtCover.jpg/220px-FlowersDirtCover.jpg[/img] [img]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/9/95/Flaming_Pie.jpg/220px-Flaming_Pie.jpg"/> Solid.

iVE been listening to Paul my whole Life so this quite the challenge .. but I do have 3 favorites : I think 1 Flowers in the Dirt -- it came out when I was 7 and that was the first tour my mom went to outside the Beatles and Wings , so We listened to it alot prior to her attending the concert . 2 MCCartney in 1970 --I Love "Maybe Im a Amazed " and I love that Paul had guts and took the opportunity to make music after the Beatles broke up . 3 Tug of War it was the album that came out when I when i was born ( 1982 ) and I love the singles from it : Tug of War , and Wanderlust . Im really looking forward to geting the 30th Anniversary of this Next year when I turn 30 . I could add more def . but ill stick with the 3 as I was aked

For me, its McCartney thru Wildlife, & dont forget the Another Day single. Its the best patch of songs McCartney has written, up there with his Beatle days.
-
Red Rose Speedway,Band On The Run, Venus And Mars..plus all the great singles @ that time.. My Love /The Mess Jr's Farm/Sally G Live And Let Die Listen To What The Man Said Letting Go..
-
I would say his next 3 albums after Electric Arguments will be his best
-
Can I pick Let It Be, McCartney and Ram? (Is that cheating? lol). Anyway, my love of Ram makes up for Wildlife so I'll go: McCartney Ram Wildlife or Chaos MAF Electric Arguments Clearly I don't have a clue. Too much Paul to love!

Ill go with that too, and looking forward to it. It assumes that the first one will come out this year, right?

Sure, why not! Here's my new fav 3. that was a huge period for me personally. 2001-2005, whew! I know it's too each his/her own, but I'm always amazed at the opposition to MAF. No biggie, just surprises me since I love it so much If I had to pick a three-album run, I'd probably go with Chaos/MAF/EA. He's had stronger albums, sometimes two stronger ones in a row, but I honestly feel that this has been his most consistently great run of at least three albums since the Beatles disbanded.
My problem with MAF is the sound (plus a couple of bad songs). I still like most of the tracks but can't listen to more than 4 or 5 songs at a time before I have to put on an album like Chaos or Flowers. As far as my run of 3 I'll go with RRS, Band on the Run and V&M.
I?m with you there. This is the run that began my deep dive into Paul?s solo catalogue ![](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/8/89/ChobaCover.jpg/220px-ChobaCover.jpg[/img] [img]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/7/7c/TrippingLiveCover.jpg/220px-TrippingLiveCover.jpg"/> I love those album covers
Ah the albums that got it all started for me and Paul the year was basically 1989...
-
If I didn't find Chaos too melancholy, it would definitely be: -Chaos & Creation... -Memory Almost Full -Electric Arguments Therefore, I must go with: -Off The Ground -Flaming Pie -Driving Rain Tug Of War and Press To Play would definitely be in my list, but Pipes Of Peace isn't as strong, and I don't quite consider Broadstreet a proper album.

Yeah I'm with you there about Broadstreet, cause its such a remake/movie soundtrack album. Your top 3 are strong, but also an interesting selection as so much material was actually released during that time, a run of 3 rock studio albums is actually like 10 albums! What did you think of Paul is Live! ? Thats the live album that falls somewhere in between OTG and Flaming Pie. And then there's a bunch including 2 Firman records! not to mention Wingspan coming out before Driving Rain but that doesn't count. ![](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/1/13/Off_the_Ground.jpg/220px-Off_the_Ground.jpg[/img] [img]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/6/69/DrivingRain.jpg/220px-DrivingRain.jpg"/> I know what you meant though audi, those were his rock albums. I just got on a little album cover pic bender there thinking about it
-
I suppose I should've considered Strawberries Oceans..., since I stand by EA as a legit album. As for Paul Is Live, that was a letdown, considering what a monster of a live-album that the previous live-album Tripping was. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Unplugged yet.
-
Well I'm sure both Audi and Kapoo will come after me with a pitchfork for saying this, but I don't consider "live" albums to be real albums anyway. Harrumph. So my favorite 3 album run: OK that last one is a stretch. I like Wild Life but don't love it. It's just that I had a hard time finding 3 straight studio albums in a row that I liked. I love Chaos and Electric Arguments but not MAF. I like Flaming Pie and Run Devil Run but not Driving Rain (in fact, I pretty much hate Driving Rain, both the album and the weather variety). Now I'll run for cover.
-
No problem on my end... ...however, I'll agree that Wild Life is a major stretch.
