Just to say I'm excited about the release tomorrow. The 3 songs I've heard ("New", "Save Us" and "Anybody out there") have proved to be top notch songs. So a lot to look forward to. Think I'm going to stick on Please Please Me in a moment and think about this artists 50 year career- once the fading chord from A Day In The Life has ended.
Chris, it's Everybody Out There. And didn't you hear Queenie Eye (the Times Square mini-concert?)
OOPS! Yes your right, I'm naughty! And now, didn't hear Queenie Eye about 10 mins ago> I didn't want to hear that many songs before the albums release, would spoil the surprise a bit! Having first listen now, onto Looking At Her and so far so very, very impressed with album!!!!!!! More thoughts a bit later on.......

"Just like to say Paul McCartneys new album "NEW" is sheer excellence! Not let down by it at all. Sounds very modern and NOW without sounding cringey like many musicians of his age would attempting to do the same. The man is a sheer genius. If this album isn't number 1 that will surely be a crime! Also, for those who wrote this man off after his Olympics opening ceremony performance will now know what the taste of humble pie is like. Brilliant!" My facebook status. I have just finished my first listen and started my 2nd. SO much going on on first listen but as you just read, I'm so happy with this! I'd like to know what the older fans amongst us (those over 45-ish??) would think of the modern sounds from this album- songs like Appreciate, for example.

I'm a first generation Beatles fan (was 8 when they came to America in Feb. 1964) and I freakin' LOVE Appreciate!! This is his best album since Flaming Pie imo!

Ah, Nancy, your exactly who I had in mind when I wrote that- do remember your live Beatle storys. So happy your loving NEW then, seeing as your an VERY long time fan! That is a beautiful thing- long time fans like you and newer fans like me (since 2003) both loving this genius and his talents, and this album itself. (To put it in perspective, my mum was born in 1963!) Sheer brilliance!

After listening to the pre-release song New, I ordered the album from Amazon and for the first time in many years was excited about the delivery. I do not use Apple products, preferring Windows based systems and I have a digital library of all of my music, so the first thing I did was load the CD into my PC to add to my library - but it said, Unknown Album, Unknown Artist, Unknown songs etc. It took me ages to edit the files to add the song titles, and had to guess at the 15th track - which I think is called Scared (One of the best songs on the album, by the way) I do wish the marketing people would stop trying to be clever and just give us high quality material, with all of the metadata to support it. The album is great! If any of the production team are interested in new ideas for future products, I have been trying for years to argue that we need a revolution in the music industry to create new products, not just some tinkering with the current CD format. I'm looking for a rich set of data to accompany the music that would allow me to search for songs, based on the people playing on the recording, not just the singer. I'm sure Paul would support the idea of being able to select a playlist of James Jamerson records of an evening.

I'm happy ...I get a light cube w/my cd tomorrow
-
A good friend has gone to an FYE store to reserve NEW with the cube. Can't wait to see it.
-
Loving the NEW songs what I have heard and love McCartney Toys!!

What a stupid article! So they've looked at the iTunes chart on the day it was released and deduced it's not doing well?

Yeah I thought it was stupid too, I think the official charts will show a much better result

Whoever wrote that article completely fits the profile of what is known in the 'hood as a "hater."

I have listened to most of the new album on youtube. This album is fantastic on second listen. At first I kind of felt let down. Dont know why but upon second listen I was like "this is brilliant" my favorites are Early Days Alligator Road Save us and Queenie eye. Also really beginning to like on my way to work.

Research shows that, as with books, albums are optimally enjoyed when one purchases his own copy.
-
Often, an album doesn't "jell" or something the very first listen. One's reactions can change a lot upon further listenings. (to titolrules) About buying "New" I won't be able to until the last week in October and fear it'll be sold out in the county seat Walmart and Starbucks (they just recently got a Starbucks there)--after copies get gone will they put more out, you think? Having already got more, or shall they have ordered more. The town has a Mayberry vibe so guess I'll be lucky if they have this in the first place-- I like to have a physical hard copy even if it's soft rock (pun?). In a dilemma here, since I prefer the colors on the regular copy to those on the deluxe edition copy. Wanting to hear the extra songs, though, will trump that

Unfortunately, their website is messed up. I was by Target earlier today to buy a few bathroom items and dropped by the music section and noticed two copies of the KOTB deluxe album from last year there. In fact, that's where I bought my copy. Of course, they told me New is out tomorrow. Got home and playing on their site I checked to see if it would register the presence of the two KOTB in the store in my zip code. Their site said I would have to order the Deluxe version but that two copies of the standard were there as part of the inventory. Clearly, it is not a flawless system which, given the number of items they carry, I guess isn't surprising. P.S....look back at a recent message where someone reported their Target deluxe version WITH THE DVD came in the mail. Everything we have heard on here said that the DVD was only with the standard version.
