P.S....note to American buyers. There is always a remote possibility that some stores may put out the CD on Monday evening. I had the good fortune to pick up Tripping the Live Fantastic when it came out early the night before the Tuesday release back in 1990 at some record chain store now extinct. Never know, could happen. There is or was something I was told back then about large stores not being allowed to put out albums early as it gave them an unfair advantage over the small independents. Sadly, not many of these still around.
I'm guessing there won't be any Midnight Madness events, though. I remember Tower Records doing that for Anthology 1 and there was a huge line with extensive news coverage. They did it again for Anthology 2 and I just walked right in. The local news people were there to capture the "mayhem" but had to settle for a close-up shot of me buying the CD, because no one else was there! (But I was on the news, so that was cool.)

I happen to work at walmart and checked our new release shipment today. We got in 4 copies of the standard edition and two deluxe edition copies in, covers look great on both. Kind of sad we only got 6 copies of Pauls Album and 12 of Pearl Jam's new one. Oddly when Elton Johns new one came out we got in over 50 copies and had it prominently placed on an endcap. Right now Justin Timberlakes new one is taking up the new release endcap space.

What happened with Tripping the Live wasn't a midnight madness event but was simply the store putting out new releases early Monday evening and then closing a few hours later at their regular 9:00 PM time or whatever it was. They broke the record company rules on that one.

Trying to get Toto's "Rosanna" out of my head. Can't wait to hear "Hosannah."
Isn't it Hosanna?

Thanks for the info on Wal-Mart, good to see you are getting the deluxe.

I am sure all 24 hr retailers will sell the album at midnight. I know Walmart will. Even if an emlpyee has to get it out of the back, as long as its midnight on the 15th its legal to sell.

For a very short while, while auditioning various dates to see if anything took. Or something like that. Wasn't very long before he settled on N.Shevell, for whom (according to Hello magazine) he wrote "Scared", he'd been afraid to say "I love you" even though he's had enough practice.
I heard Rosanna Arquette didn't like all the intense "fame" Paul has and that drove her away. You know, not being able to go out with the paps all over you, etc. Hah! For me that would be a small price to pay for being with Paul!

Sorry, yes, I realized what you meant. It just got me thinking about those old days when people would flock to record stores for a new release, and Midnight Madness sales were one way of capitalizing on that. And yes, there are retailers who will sell this album early (already have, in fact), but I will resist!

Guess I'll cross that off my list, although Walmart does have the cheapest price I've seen for actual stores selling the deluxe version.

What songs are on the deluxe version?!
-
Same as Amazon deluxe. Ill try to post pictures of the Album covers later.
-
nice to finally get something first isnt it. I picked up a copy of both covers yesterday. loving it

For those in the U.S., I just did a little research, and if you want all the songs (well except for Secret Life of a Party Girl) WalMart & Amazon have the best price ($14.8 Best Buy is $16.99, Target is also $16.99 and has the 30 min. DVD (which you can see on youtube) and no bonus tracks.

Another update! Your guide to buying the "NEW" album. Standard CD with 12 tracks, plus 13th hidden track: Scared (with bonus lighted cube at some independent stores - and maybe FYE?) Standard vinyl LP - track listing not clear, release pushed back to November Deluxe CD (and iTunes deluxe download) with 12 tracks, plus hidden track, plus two bonus tracks: Turned Out, Get Me Out Of Here (with bonus lighted cube at some independent stores - and maybe FYE?) Target exclusive CD with 12 tracks, plus hidden track, plus DVD (30 minutes, Canadian tour "Rendez-vous" interview), no bonus tracks Best Buy exclusive CD with 12 tracks, plus hidden track, plus badge and photo cards* Japanese CD with 12 tracks, plus hidden track, plus three bonus tracks: Turned Out, Get Me Out Of Here, Struggle [looks like CD Japan is cheaper than Amazon.jp] There is no Walmart exclusive CD. They have the standard CD and the deluxe CD, apparently at the cheapest prices of physical stores. *Note that Best Buy is also selling the standard CD and the deluxe CD, and that their own exclusive CD has no bonus tracks as far as we can tell. For those interested in the color of the front cover artwork, it's definitely the orange/pink combo on the standard CD and LP, and it's definitely the blue/purple combo on the Target and Best Buy exclusive CDs (and apparently on the Japanese one). For the regular deluxe CD, it's unclear to me which colors are on it?online sources disagree.

Her name is Nancy. Not N Shevell.

Just read that the 'Exclusive' Japanese track called there 'Struggled" is no other than 'Scared' (The Hidden track on ALL the versions), Can anyone confirm this?
-
Cant get the picture of the album cover to load on this site. The walmart deluxe looks just like the amazon one. The sticker reads as follows: New--Paul McCartney 12 NEW SONGS PLUS 2 BONUS TRACKS AND AN EXPANDED PACKAGE INCLUDES NEW AND QUEENIE EYE

Thanks. it's Friday night, the weekend is here and wouldn't it be nice if New had come out today? Just broke down and listened to Early Days that someone on here put on this thread with a link. What a great song! Will now try to refrain from hearing it again until Tuesday.
