Where's Paul been lately?

LadyLeslie:
Hi jl4761! (waving) I tried to order the book and CD but it was "out of stock" on Amazon. Thanks for reminding me, so I can try again! Will let you know after reading it. It's sad that the two main sites that the Beatles were at in KC are gone now... the Municipal Stadium was torn down in the early 1970s, and the Muehlbach Tower where they stayed was torn down and rebuilt on the same spot in 1998. The older part of the hotel (from 1927) is still intact. Had a great turnout for "The Beatles: Eight Days a Week" in KC, at the Tivoli Theatre... it played for 9 weeks, until the DVD release. Every Friday night some friends and I went to see it until it closed, and it was always packed. It's freezing here... got a lot of snow here on Thursday, then the temperatures were so low everything that melted is a sheet of ice now. I've just stayed home with a nice pot of vegetable soup and a blanket, lol That is great about the Chiefs making the Playoffs... if they do well, we might have the Super Bowl in KC, who knows
Keep looking for the book and attached CD, you'll be glad you did. Let me know when you get it. I hope to talk with you more here on the forum in the mean time.

Thanks, jl4761! Will let you know when I've read the booklet about The Beatles KC visit. Have a great day and see you around the forums here

Love Me (hair)Do! Paul McCartney, 74, displays bald patch as he enjoys cosy lunch date with wife Nancy Shevell, 57 Sir Paul McCartney displayed a thinning patch of hair on a lunch date with Nancy Shevell on Saturday. The Beatles legend, 74, may still be blessed with a head of long locks, but a bald spot appeared to be forming on the crown as he headed out in London. Sir Paul still seemed in good spirits, however, as he wrapped an arm around Nancy, 57, after grabbing a bite to eat with the pretty brunette and his son James, 39, and daughter Mary, 47. Very nice photos! Especially liked Paul's blue sunglasses... and Mary's colorful scarf. I wonder, since Paul is now in London, if that means he's in the recording studio working on his new album... I read that he signed a contract with Capitol Records last year. If he's signed with them, not sure how that works, if he has to use their studios and recording engineers in LA or if he can record anywhere, and send the recordings to Capitol to put on an album and distribute... But that would be great if he was able to record the album at Abbey Road studios. It's a place that seems very comfortable and familiar for him, that he enjoys working at very much, on his home turf, and it would make sense he'd want to record there. Am really looking forward to hearing his new music! As far as the bald patch statement, that was very unkind of the Daily Mail... In my opinion, that's very typical of tabloid journalism to try and sensationalize a perceived flaw in someone else... just to get revenue for the number of clicks the article will get. Seems like a very juvenile schoolyard mentality where kids point at someone and laugh, most of the time for no reason. But IMO it's not true anyway, it's not a bald patch, just merely an area of the back of the head where the hair naturally parts at the crown.

Ah who gives a sh*t! Paul still looks great for 74! Hell, he's got a foxy younger woman, he must be doing something right!
-
Agree with you, JL4761. He does look great for 74, he takes very good care of himself by eating healthy and keeping fit. If people are truly Paul's fans, they'd just ignore tasteless remarks by the tabloid media. I would have ignored the DM's remarks, but just thought it was very unfair to him. Anyway, from the last count he has 6,893,849 fans on Facebook, 1.2 million followers on Instagram, and 3.1 million on Twitter... he has a very loyal fanbase, so he's always been doing something right from the very beginning.

Thank you LadyLeslie, I couldn't have said it better myself! How are you? If I was Paul, I would be spending more time in the bedroom with Nancy! Then again, we wouldn't be seeing very much of Paul at all!

I'm more surprised they didn't say anything derogatory about James!

Hi Nancy! Give the media time, they'll be saying something about James before you know it. And James started going bald before his Dad did! Who gives a sh*t! Its all part of life!

Thank you LadyLeslie, I couldn't have said it better myself! How are you?
Hi JL4761! Thank You! How are you? I'm doing good, or trying to anyway, lol... just spent an hour at the Post Office trying to sort out a problem with my PO Box... evidently they're returning all my mail to sender by mistake... *trying not to cry*... they admitted they made a mistake though and hopefully it's all straightened out now...
I'm more surprised they didn't say anything derogatory about James!
They shouldn't be writing anything bad about anybody, but I guess hoping for that from the tabloid press is too much to ask for, lol I'm really looking forward to Paul's new album... and hopefully a concert tour this year! If I was lucky enough to be able to go to one of his concerts, and get a front row seat, I'd probably have to take a fan and some smelling salts... for some reason I have a feeling just seeing him would render me cosmically unconscious, lol ops:

Hi LadyLeslie! I hope you get your situation straightened out at the Post Office. In my neighborhood, someone has been breaking into all of our mailboxes! All of my neighbors and I went to the Post Office and chewed out the employees since no one at the Post Office is doing anything about it. I already wrote a letter to the Director of the U.S. Post Office and am awaiting his response. I'll let you know what the result will be. I'm looking forward to getting Paul's new album too! You better take someone with you to the concert to catch you when you pass out! Then they can administer the strong smelling salt to you to wake you up so you can see Paul again and pass out!
-
Hi LadyLeslie! I hope you get your situation straightened out at the Post Office.
Thank you! I'm sorry you're having to go through post office troubles as well... hopefully things will be straightened out for you soon! I mailed a letter to myself (using my work as return address) to test whether the problem is fixed.... it's awful to have this happen when you're expecting checks in the mail or bills you need to pay or just that special letter you were hoping you might get

Yes, I'll have to take a couple of supportive friends so they can help me... they've been with me through four screenings of The Beatles documentary, so they know what to do, lol.... Seriously though, in staying on topic, does anyone know if Paul has completed recording for the new album, or is he still in the studio? There's been postings to expect a new album by summer... it would be great if his concert tour begins after the album's release, so he can sing songs from it during the tour.

Hi LadyLeslie! Did you pass out during the four screenings of EIGHT DAY'S A WEEK? If you did, that's what I call a loyal Beatles fan! I do not know if Paul has finished his new album or not, Maybe one of our fellow Beatles fanatics knows the answer to your question. I feel confident that someone here does. I will definitely see Paul if he goes on tour again!

Hi LadyLeslie! Did you pass out during the four screenings of EIGHT DAY'S A WEEK? If you did, that's what I call a loyal Beatles fan!
hahahaha, no.... but after screening #1, when we were coming out of the theater, my friends and I were talking and laughing, and I said something dreamy about Paul, you know, and for some reason (since I wasn't looking where I was going) I stepped on a Peanut M & M on the floor and slipped and fell down about 5 or 6 stairs... Anyone who knows the TIvoli Theatre in Westport in Kansas City knows there's about 24 steps from the lobby where you buy your tickets up to the theater area. One of the young theater employees (and my friends) ran down the stairs to make sure I was ok. I stood up and was fine and there was a small crowd starting to form, and my friend said, "It's ok, she's just a Paulcoholic and had too much to drinkt!" Then at that moment, quite unintentionally, I had to hiccup (somehow the Dr Pepper I had must have been affected by the flight down the stairs..) I just put my hand over my mouth and everyone just laughed outloud... I was sooooooo embarrassed, almost crying from embarrassment, and just wanted to put a paper sack over my head and get out of there.... which I did rather quickly..... Won't go into the other 3 screenings, but-- let's just say my "fangirling" was always a source of amusement to my friends... I guess that's a sign of a true friend though when they know you well, and don't judge..... Again, I'm really looking forward to Paul's new album, and would be great seeing him in concert sometime in the near future. I'm sure they'll probably make announcements about it come Spring.

Ouch! Falling down the stairs brings back memories in many different places for me! And they all involved drinking and medications too! Its even worse when you fall down the concrete stairs in a stadium after a concert! Its a wonder that I'm still alive after all of the falling down the stairs alone! Actually, I'm lucky to be alive to put it mildly! I must have a strong will to survive! I'm glad that you can laugh about your peanut M & M incident! That is hilarious! I've done a lot of crazy things in my life, too many to tell! I really can write a book about them! I like your term Paulcoholic, that is going to be a new term word in rehab!
-
Yes, I'm really lucky I wasn't hurt worse... falling down stairs can be very dangerous... Sounds like you had some bad falls as well.. I'm glad you weren't injured badly! My friend used the term Paulcoholic because she wanted to add some humor to my embarrassment... having people think I fell down the stairs because I had just seen Paul onscreen seemed more endearing and amusing than having them think I actually had been drinking, lol Was still embarrassing though....... ops:
-
Sorry to crash the convo but the only time I've ever fallen down the stairs was when I was about 12 or 13 and carrying a big pile of washing downstairs. I slipped on the landing and flew headfirst down the steps. Luckily, the soft clothes broke my fall.
-
Hi W. D. Stevens, nice to meet you! You're not crashing the convo at all That must have been very scary for you when you fell! It was very lucky you were carrying the washing, it protected you. In regard to Paul's current work... I was asking earlier if Paul is currently recording his new album. Happened to see in a post (in the Meet Paul "Wix" Wickens thread in "What's That You're Doing" forum) that indicates as of August 2016 Paul was in the studio recording his new album. Not sure if that means it's completed, or that he's been continuing to record additional tracks off and on since then. Am looking forward to all the great new music, and hopefully more will be announced within the next six months or so.

I would assume most of the recordings would be done at his own Hogg Hill Mill Studio in Sussex as he's been doing (on and off) since the Nineties. It's cheaper than forking out money to rent a studio and he has the bonus that he can work at his own pace.
