I've just found out that a band called Maroon 5 will do a concert at the Echo Arena on May 29, but I only know a couple of their old songs. Has anyone here ever been to one of their concerts? Is it worth going, since I'll still be in town anyway?
Just saw that the Beach Boys (sadly without Brian Wilson) are doing a show at Manchester Apollo (about an hour ride from Liddypool) on May 27. Bryan Ferry is performing at Liverpool Philharmonic on May 26, so plenty of geat concerts in the area. On another note, is the Casbah Club open by appointment only? I'd love to go there, as I have missed out on that on my previous trip to Liverpool.
Bryan Ferry has been sold out for months luckily enough i got my tickets months ago thankfully,he's excellent and well worth a watch but you're right May and June are great for live music.

Also performing in Liverpool the Saturday before the Echo show is Sean Lennon's The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger (part of Liverpool's Sound City music festival). Too bad it's the same night as Paul's O2 concert...
-
Does Paul usually pick a fan to come on stage at his UK shows? I know he does it at most of his shows, just wondering. Also do you think cameras will be allowed at Echo Arena? I bought VIP tickets for Liverpool but I don't think they will arrive before I leave because I live in Australia. Does anyone know if we can pick them up on the day?

I have contacted CrowdSurge and told them that I will not be in Brazil anymore by the time (7-10 days before the concert) they send my ticket in the mail. Here is their reply: "We can now confirm that your ticket will be sent directly to the venue for you to collect on the night of the show after the venue doors open". That's good enough for me, as it is a numbered seat. What about you folks who bought a ticket either from the Echo Arena website or from Ticketmaster UK: are you only allowed to collect it once the venue doors have been opened as well?
Do you have VIP tickets for Liverpool? And they said you could pick them up from the venue?

This might need to be moved to a different forum How about using this to arrange a board meet up before the gig or for idea on where to stay what to do. Where to eat, getting to Liverpool etc thread. Great pubs and so on For example if flying in to Manchrster you can now get a tram direct in to Manchester Piccadilly for trains on to liverpool Top tip some trains from Manchester to Liverpool only take 32 minutes some take an hour
-
If you need tickets see tickets have a few left but you can only get one at a time and you won't be sat together this is at 0858 on Wednesdsy morning in the UK

I wonder if a "boardies" meet actually works, fans i've met say there's a general apathy for that sort of thing which is a shame. I suppose someone has to organise it so in the end nobody does. I've met a few myself for gigs, but it's mostly been in ones and twos. I keep in touch with a few, and a number of them have become very good friends, love2travel,plasticsoulman, jimmymccullochfan, kestrel and Audi are the main ones who've stepped up to the plate. The only one i haven't been to a Paul gig with yet is Audi, but you never know?

No, the VIP tickets are sent by mail. The company told me that they can send it to your hotel, if you give them the address.

I'd be up for a boardie meet-up!

Actually MrsMcCharmly, Paul very rarely brings people up....not a regular thing at all. It does happen enough for people to continue trying though. But having gone to 115 Paul shows...I would place the stage stuff at around 10-15 of those shows to give you an idea

I'm a bit worried to have it sent to the hotel before I even get there...what if it gets lost?

Oh really? At least 10 of my friends have been bought on stage, so I thought he did it at nearly all of his recent shows. I know he never used to do it.

I would love to get Paul to write something on me to add to my collection of tattoos

I wouldn't worry too much about your tix if you have VIP they usually give them out in check in.. Theres a list of names you show them your ID.. they give you your ticket.. Yes you can bring a camera as long as it's not a professional detachable lens type.. javascript:emoticon('') As far as bringing people on stage? it depends on Paul's mood..
