I'm curious: When Macca performs "Hope For The Future," does he introduce it in any particular way, or does he just go straight into it? I commend him for keeping it in the show, despite his disappointment with its commercial performance. Now, if Paul McCartney could just receive my telepathic message for him and his band to learn the Thrash Mix and OPEN his shows with it...
-
he introduces it by saying he wrote it for the video game Destiny.
-
Cool.

If anyone has the sound check set list, could you post it, please? I was there but I can't remember, never bring a pen and people back home are asking about it. Thanks so much! ops: BTW it was a fantastic night! The Liverpool crowd was on it's feet pretty much the entire show and with good reason. Paul was in great voice, except when he got choked up after TLAWR, when his voice cracked with emotion during the next two songs. I think it was a very emotional night for everyone.
I didn't write it down either! However, I know someone who did, so here you go: Paul McCartney soundcheck set list Liverpool 28th May 2015 Paul on Les Paul guitar ? ?Honey Don?t?, ?Blue Suede Shoes? (slow version) Paul on Hofner bass ? ?Flaming Pie?, ?Get Back?, ?Penny Lane? (with false start) Paul playing piano ? ?C Moon?, then a slow instrumental with one verse of vocal ? possible new song, ?Let ?Em In? Paul playing acoustic guitar ? ?Alligator? ? requested by fan, ?It?s So Easy? (Buddy Holly?s song), ?Every Night? Paul playing 12-string guitar ? ?Midnight Special? Paul playing ukulele ? ?Ram On? Paul playing Red Rose Speedway acoustic guitar, restrung right-handed ? ?Bluebird? Paul playing synth ? ?Lady Madonna? ? he said he didn?t have to test the synth, he just liked playing around with it! We both had a fantastic time - still recovering!!

I think this gig is the gig that has given me the most songs I've not heard live before since the flowers in the dirty tours and obviously after the first time I saw him live in 79 with Wings
-
Here's my vids from the concert. Not complete songs but a fair chunk of each. Enjoy!

Ah I was there in Liverpool, the first time I'd seen him there since the Kings Dock gig in 1990. I thought he was blooming fantastic! The set list was great, although I wish he had dropped Temporary Secretary and Helter Skelter; the latter is always a loo break for me. I would have preferred Coming Up to TS and Birthday to HS. I wish he'd do Dance Tonight, but hey you can't have it all. His voice held up really well. It may not have the strength of his youth or even his 40s/50s but it's a heck of a lot better than the moaners would have you think I'm in awe of his stamina as well. Two hours on stage, before the first finale, without wiping his face or having a drink. He puts me to shame. As a Brucie bonus, as I was walking past the back entrance to the Echo Arena he arrived at around 5.30pm and gave us a wave!!

Well, I haven't quite come back down to earth yet! It was fab enough that I got to see him on Sunday at the O2, but another opportunity presented itself, and after 51 years of waiting, I finally got to go to Liverpool and see Paul McCartney. It was incredible. I met some lovely people - hello Nina and friends from the US On reviewing the set list - I think my favourite songs played were Live and let die, Band on the Run ( I never quite mastered Blackbird, but Band on the Run was a doddle!) , I also loved Another Girl, Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da, Queenie Eye, Can't buy me love...... I don't know how he manages 3 hours without a break, I was exhausted.

Nice setlist but is a pity that he play always the same songs also in the soundcheck. Why not play sometimes "Some other guy" instead of Honey don't? Or other Wings songs never performed live like "Helen Wheels" and "Warm and beautiful"....

Hiya, do you happen to know anyone who wrote down the setlist for the soundcheck for the 2nd london show? Me and my sister were there - but didn't write it down assuming others would post it online (doh!) but we've realised we're forgetful and can't remember the order now!! So anyone know (yes i know this is the liverpool thread! Just hoping some regular peeps may know it!)

No Mull or Penny Lane? Are you ****ing kidding me?
Liverpool isn't in Scotland
I find it ridiculous he will only play Mull in Scotland or where there are large Scottish populations. I'm Latino and I love that song!
He played Mull of Kintyre at the Liverpool gig in December 2011.

He also plays Mull at Canadian gigs, too.
