I'm going to go out on a limb and conclude that Paul's marketing team has wisely scheduled Paul for this event -- for the sole purpose of actually giving his new album exposure to an active, commercial consumer-market outside of his fan-base.

Wow, I hadn't thought of that. It would be amazing if Paul and band walked out and played a 45 min. set of brand new songs, then ended or encored with GET BACK or HELTER SKELTER.

Do you think "Outta Sight" would work well live? Make a good opener?

I hadn't heard it, frankly, so I went and listened, and that might just be a killer opener with his band, maybe even have Paul at the grand piano.

You listened to the new, re-recorded version, right? If so, I totally agree. And, why not -- Paul could play piano on that. Good idea.

Wow - that's got to be the oddest lineup of artists I've ever seen on one bill! Not to say there are any "wasters" on there but it's certainly extremely eclectic, even with all of them decidedly on the "pop" side. As for why Paul is there, the cynic in me says it's to keep attendees from running to the blackjack tables while some of the other artists are on (I know *I'd* be off for a fair number of them!). Would be great if he premieres a new number or two...I hope so...but I'm a wee bit skeptical myself. Definitely about keeping in the public eye for get folks primed for a new album but not sure this would be setting for more than one song debut.

Well, we are talking about the same guy who had the No. 2 album in the country -- and performed zero Flaming Pie songs at the 1997 Concert For Montserrat. I assume FP was as big a bit in the UK as it was in the U.S.

Gosh & I was just watching an interview with George & he practically shoved a Beatle picture book back at the host because he didn't want to talk "Beatle" anymore...that's in the past he said.

Good question. I never thought of that. Maybe there will be a separate show for Vegas. In the same arena! He has played there before.

15,000 seems about right. Except for the joy of performing, I wonder what Paul's motivation for doing this gig is? Maybe the money. But he could do a show here by himself and get the fee as well.

He'll get radio exposure all over the planet. Radio is still big many places.

it really disappointing, knowing he will be there after the tickets were sold out! if he can just make another one in Vegas, for his fans only!

I don't think you'll see another Vegas show combined. As far as his fans, I'd love to go as well but these huge festivals are never for "his fans" same as Bonnaroo and Outside Lands....handful may get tickets but these are for the younger music fans not specifically for Paul fans. The win for Paul is the fans he may gain when those youngsters are interested to see the legend and get hooked upon seeing him. Told you a month ago, that you would see him do this one!

Its good to see Paul playing for "non" fans,it says to me he's trying to be relevant to today market and give these young 'un's a taste of what a superstar/legend (what an over used term that is) is really about.

I saw him in this venue in 05, very nice theater-like room no bad seats and a great vibe I don't think Paul is motivated by money, I think it's the festival vibe itself, remember the Beatles declined Woodstock
