Nancy R:
Wow! Quite a trip! Business or pleasure? Or both?
Mostly business, but I snuck in some time for me.

Pure McCartney has a fair proportion of Wings tracks on it, but not a single reference to Wings anywhere on the back or front cover. Another nail in the coffin of the idea they were a real band??
'Wings Greatest' 1978 'Wingspan' 2001
Not sure what your point is. But in 2001 a compilation that was NOT all Wings was branded as Wings, and now this compilation including plenty of Wings is branded just as McCartney, with no ref to them on the cover or anything.
When Paul played Too Many People on the US Tour in 2005 he dedicated it to the Wings Fans. That song is from the Ram album by Paul and Linda McCartney. They were Wings.

With 'Ram' tracks appearing on the first two Wings albums,I can forgive Paul that slip up,especially after the passing of over thirty years. I think the early 1970's was a very confusing period for Paul.

Plus he was smoking a ton of weed back then!

I think Wings deserves a R & R Hall of Fame place. Although obviously dominated by Paul's songs, production and lead vocals. They were still a band with members (albeit with a few different line-ups) that performed live and recorded as a integral unit. Paul wanted it to be a band known as Wings although some albums like RRS and BOTR got the "Paul McCartney and Wings" credit, probably due to record company pressure.
So who would show up to be inducted? They were fluid....musicians came and went; several have died, including Linda. Essentially, they were all backup musicians to Paul. He's been inducted twice. It ain't gonna' happen again. We have to just accept that.

They could invite all the past members. Denny Laine, Laurence Juber, Denny Seiwell, Joe English, Steve Holley, and Geoff Britton are all still alive.

If Wings were to be inducted, then what would be the justification for having 'solo' Paul in the Hall? Everything post 1970 is lumped together as 'post Beatles Paul'...that's who got voted in

Because Paul was a solo artist after Wings disbanded. Maybe that's why it took until 1999 for him to be inducted as a solo artist.

That's a good way to look at it. But if that's true then Wings definitely should be considered.
