Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

+1 I've also never understood all the criticism Paul gets for his acting. I've always enjoyed watching him in all the movies (don't forget MMT and Broad Street!), and I think he does much better than the vast majority of non-actors would. He's very good at deadpanning, as all four of them were and are. John and Ringo were the most natural actors of the group, but Paul's performances were not far behind IMO. He even does well as Pyramus in the Midsummer Night's Dream sketch -- his facial expressions are priceless. I most love his bits on SNL, especially the Chris Farley show, which must have been very difficult to play straight, and that cut skit where he played the job-seeker. He has strong comedic timing. He's also especially skilled with voices and impressions, and I wish they would make better use of those talents on SNL. As LadyLeslie said, most of the time he plays himself in things, which I think is a shame, as he'd likely be better as a character actor. It will be interesting to see who/what he winds up playing in Pirates. I'm really looking forward!
Yes, he was excellent in his SNL bits. I think comedy is his strongest point in all of the skits I've seen him in. He must be naturally a funny guy. I really liked him with his tint harmonica on his interview on the View. There was also a hilarious sketch he did with a melotron once. There are plenty of enjoyable sketches and you tubes, where Paul is very enjoyable to watch... Looking forward to seeing him in the movie.

Totally approve of both posts ! I think Paul's acting is genuinely fine! I think he's really natural in Hard Days Night Help AND especially broadstreet . I think Broadstreet is totally underated - I find it totally watchable. Help is actually my favourite Beatles movie, think it's really funny, and I actually think that both Hard Days Night (and Ringo's performance in it ) is grossly overated !

Being funny and being a good actor are not mutually inclusive. George Carlin was one of the funniest comedians to ever walk the face of the Earth. But he was a terrible actor.

Damn!! He looks really good like this! It's been 46 years since we didn't see him with a beard and he comes back with THIS BEARD

Thanks so much for posting this. Looks like Paul posted this on his instagram page today. He looks great
can't wait to see this! Just looked at the film's IMDB page, and Paul's role is "Jail Guard 2" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1790809/

I hope he just does a cameo. Just a very short scene. He does look cool though huh? Maybe he should grow his beard back?

I don't even want to see the movie, (not a big fan of the Pirate franchise, but I'll watch his scene when it comes out for home viewing) but I kind of want a movie poster of the picture Paul released today.

Paul looks so fantastic in that costume!!
I wonder his role. From the You tube video (of the directors) they were looking to replace Keith Richards because Keith couldn't make it for the filming. If I remember correctly, Keith played Depp's father in the movie. Hmmm, so someone related to Richard's/Depp's character maybe? Keith's brother (depp's uncle-Uncle Pirate Paul)?? LOL I don't know, but I am sure it will be great.

He is listed as Jail Guard 2.
