And now the time is near....

One can have a negative opinion about something without making it into a blood bath. It's all in the manner of expression. But just as importantly one can view the same performance and have positive things to say as well.
Indeed but one should be able to express negative opinions without being pounced on and called a nitpicker like I was in the Let it Be thread. I felt I had a pretty good conversation with a few posters and certainly didn't turn it into a blood bath.

I think respect for Paul and respect for board members is all anyone really wants on this board.
I agree but it is important to not it is not disrespectful to have negative things to say about a performance.

its right....if there is to be any future for this forum we are ALL going to have to be a little more understanding of each other...any contenious topic seems to decsend into the same ending... i for one am trying extra hard to treat opinions i dont agree with a more reserved response.i had a long chat with a higher power on this forum the other day and whilst he righted a complete wrong on my behalf he also reminded me that i should try and be more understanding of the negative reactions my 'strong' opinions can have on some people.........as long as we genuinley respect other posters 'right' to their own view then not agreeing with them is not important and should never result in the closure of topics.

Well that's what makes the world go round. How boring it would be if we all said and did the same things. We can disagree but respect the others opinion as well. It just makes ones opinion more valid that way and more meaningful discussions ensue.

i completely respect your stance and i hope you can learn to accept mine....infact im pleased i came on this thread tonight because you have given me some hope that we can all exist on here..its obvious there have been polar opinions at loggerheads lately and i thankyou for adding a bit of sensibility to the forum......of course we havent been that close or friendly on here so i think its important to find some common ground for the different groups we appear to represent....after all we are all macca fans..we all agree he is the greatest artist that has ever lived.his music has envoked our lives.

21st Century Paul:
Exhibit C Yesterday 1965 or 1966 live, same story than the previous video...
If the Internet would have existed back then we would have had the same discussion, it's funny but it's true. Maybe this was discussed in the 60s, but I don't think so, people didn't have access to every little live performance. Now it's like every performance is in front of the whole world. You are so correct! BTW, I think that is definitely a less-than-stellar performance of Yesterday! This one is much better:

Well if we keep in sight the fact that yes we do pretty much all agree that Paul is the greatest artist out there, then we should also be able to discuss the ups and downs of his career and accept that not everyone has the same perception of them and no one is right about any aspect of it. His career encompasses a lot of things. Some of us like most of it, some like some of it and some might only really like one particular phase of it. And all of it should be allowed. The only thing I believe is a given is that only one person can decide what is best for him and what he should or shouldn't do in the future and that is Paul himself. We don't have to agree with him, but it is his right and he's earned it the hard way.

this is just getting silly. we where ment to be pulling each others hair out yet i agree with every word you say. so true about the things we all have in common..its often forgotten..infact often its like we are enemies......the real enemy is any fool wvho dosent think paul mccartney is a gift to world...yes im not a fan of his singing these days,or indeed his tours.however i still will never love a musical artist even slightly as much..paul mccartney is fucking amazing..always has been always will be!

A circle has no sides. That sounds good. No relevance though.

Which reminds me: Is there a reason Paul sang "Yesterday" in the key of G (the studio track is in F) in their '66 Japan shows?
i just love it in 'G'...thats how i sing it.miles better than 'F'...

If you can sing it in G, then you're a better singer than I'd realized.

Nah, I much prefer F personally!

Macca Mad:
Unconditional love for Macca in everything he does, no matter what !!?? Thats hard enough to achieve with your nearest loved ones & kids, not a bloke you don' know No wonder he thinks they way he does if this is the line he's fed on a regular basis . And you can hear for yourself how un-fine he sounded, no need to rely on reports.
Exactly my point earlier, Macca Mad. I love Paul so much that I am honest about his shortcomings. He doesn't sound the same as he used to. He can't hit all of the high notes, or some notes consistently. This doesn't mean I don't like seeing him in concert, as I do. I know what I'm paying for, though, and I have an absolute blast when I see him. However, I don't want him doing more than a handful of shows a year, as he needs to save his voice for the studio where he makes the real magic. If someone if going to tell me that I'm not a real fan, or a good fan, because I'm being honest in expressing what I feel... :
I prefer him to touring in 2013 or 2014 if it helps him to make a new cd.
I'm only for him touring for as long as he's up for it. He loves doing it, that's obvious, and some folks still want to see him, that's also obvious. I don't like the idea of depriving a 70-year old of joy but I also don't want him putting his health at risk.
I'm one of these folks and yes he's happy touring. It would be perfect if he makes a new cd and starts touring again.

I don't know, but I'm listening to it/watching it right now. Was the live in Germany version in G as well?
