Preshow Tracklist
-
Hey there does anybody know the list of songs played before Paul's concerts during his Up and Coming Tour? Some of them sound really neat like the remix of "Goodnight Tonight" is that available anywhere? Mod Edit: As this subjects crops up regularly, we've merged the latest four similar topics to gather all the latest knowledge in one place.

Don't know about the more recent pre-show songs, but last December in The Netherlands I kept track of the songs: The Fireman - "Sawain Ambient Acapella", and after that some other Fireman remixes from the bonus deluxe DVD. Part of "Secret Friend", instrumental versions of "Press" and "Ou Est Le Soleil". All mash-ups. "No More Lonely Nights" [Special Dance Mix]. "Goodnight Tonight" remix, with McCartney on AutoTune (!) "Temporary Secretary" [Radio Slave Remix] "Coming Up" and "Silly Love Songs" (remix, maybe also by "Radio Slave"). "Say, Say, Say", studio version. "Ob-La-Di-Ob-La-Da", a remix containing original Beatles elements. "Get Back", "The End", "Getting Better", remixes, without original Beatles sounds. Al Green's - "I Want To Hold Your Hand" The Supremes - "You Can't Do That" And if I remember correctly some cover by Curtis Mayfield. Hope this helps.

thank you so much those were all played the night I saw him at the Hollywood Bowl it'd be great to have some of those any idea where he pulled them from?
-
Sounds great! so could someone tell me what happens before Paul comes on stage? is there a preshow or video or what? And if there's a video, what happens in it? Josh
-
Thank you! I have wondered since the Piedmont Park concert in Atlanta who's version of "I Want To Hold Your Hand" that was, and now I know it was Al Green. Thank you so much!
-
I'm pretty sure the last one, before Paul comes out is "A Hard Day's Night"
-
Before each of Paul's 2010 concerts, a selection of cover versions of Beatles songs is played, such as "A Hard Day's Night" and "You Can't Do That". The last one is "The End", after which Paul enters the stage. My question is: can someone tell me the complete list of songs and performers? Thank you.
-
Can't help with the full list,, but the I Want to Hold Your Hand is the absolutely brilliant Al Green version (which can be found on the equally brilliant Soul Tribute to The Beatles album)
-
I am of little help too however whilst some of the covers are brilliant what I do not understand is why in the case of some of them we have to hear the cover and then we have to hear Paul perform it, its a wee bit overkill, it would be nice if he wasnt going to play those songs 'You cant do that' by The Supremes has to be my favourite

Adding to caverndweller's: I Wanna Hold Your Hand - All Green - Soul Tribute To The Beatles. I have Shazamed the next three, coming up with: You Can't Do That - The Supremes - Motown Meets The Beatles - Spectrum Music A Hard Days Night (Show 2 Set 2) Otis Redding And His Orchestra - Live On The Sunset Strip - Concord Music The End from Medley (Golden Slumbers, Carry That Weight, The End, Here Come The Sun & Come Together) Booker T & The MGs - McLenmore Avenue - Fantasy Inc Hope that helps... Martin

There was also a slowed up funky version of Get Back that was played, but shazam was unsuccessful for me with that one.
-
There was like a dance remix type cover of Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da as well. And I thought he played some of the stuff from twin freaks too
-
I've only addressed the immediate Motown/Soul section of Beatles covered by other artists that immediately preceeds the show opening. That section was about 12 minutes long - there was about another 20 minutes of Twin Freak remixes of Paul own material and Beatles song remixes, but as 5th-beatle specifically enquired about the bit where the songs are covered by other artists that query only applies to the end bit. Although the pre-show music changed from time to time, we've discussed this some time ago, but can't seem to find the topic at this moment . edit: Found it! http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=2286612#2286612 Though since that time we've found some more songs on the list.

could someone please explain to me what it means to shazam something? I only know shazam as the word to change billy into captain marvel.

There is a bootleg cd of pre show music & that is why OP 5th beatle was asking for basically the track list. KathrynO...google shazam. I did. Some kind of song finder?

I'm quotin myself here, but I discovered today that the version of this is by Deirdre Wilson Tabac. I bought a CD of covers from EBay for £2 (delivered!) which had this on it as well as the Al Green cover. For anyone that's interested it's on the Harmless label and is called 'We Can Work It Out'.

I went to the Puerto Rico concert from the Up And Coming last year. Needless to say the best concert of my life. Prior to the beginning of the concert, there was a collage slide show kind-of presentation, with Beatles and Paul memorabilia and all funky stuff, accompanied by an electro mix of various Beatles songs. I've been trying to find this mix for the longest time. I really enjoyed it, but can't find it anywhere, as well as the visuals. Does anyone know where I could possibly find them? Thanks!
-
Hi, The pre-show presentation is not available commercially. Some parts of the music are derived from the work Paul did with Freelance Hellraiser and released under the name Twin Freaks:

I'm just trying to find the Goodnight Tonight one..not on Twin Freaks either..
