What Book About Paul Are You Reading Now?
-
What biography book are you currently reading? me I just picked up a book at the library today called "Man on the Runaul McCartney in the 1970's by Tom Doyle. Anyone here read that one yet?
-
Got that one from Amazon UK last year, and am up to 1978. Should be finishing it this week. Liking what I have read so far. Doyle is a good writer.
-
I'm reading a Beatles one called "Liddypool" by David Bedford. Pretty good, but some mistakes with the dates in the family trees like saying Ringo & Barbara were married in 1977 when of course it was 1981.
-
Lewisohn's "Tune In", expanded edition. Best Beatles/Paul book EVER.
-
Started reading Tom Doyle's book right before my move...it got lost in the move...hope to find it soon! I saw Tom doing a reading and a Q &A in the Apple store...it was eggsalent!!! Says he interviews Paul several times a year and I really liked him. I'm thinking he would do a very fair job on the book, by the sound of what I heard!
-
Recently received my copy of "Man on the Run", haven't started it because I need to finish up with a library book. I am also reading "Tune In", a bit at a time. Haven't picked it up for a month. I am at the part when Paul & Pete get deported from Hamburg.
-
Just finished reading Man on the Run.
-
I had a look at 'Man On The Run' in the newsagent and was disappointed with the large amount of cut and paste from interviews I'd read over the years. It didn't seem to offer anything new.

"Still the Greatest"-- this book is a review on the "best" of the solo careers of The Beatles. I highly recommend it!
-
I'm finally reading the book that came with my Ram delux set. I noticed how there is no mention of the screwing beetles on the back cover at all in discussing the cover artwork. but I am amuzed when asked about Thrillington, Paul says strange substances were flying around.

I am getting this next...it sounds so interesting and apparently a lot of new info, such as song timeline...song that were written years before we ever got wind of them! I really wish there was a multi CD DVD Blue-ray with video of all the behind the scenes studio sessions. We've seen some photos, but can you imagine actually having DVD's of actual studio sessions from Paul's solo works. Another author who laments for Paul to play a solo career, smaller venue concert for those of us who are torturously pining to hear a full concert of solo material Good interview from Luca Perasi http://beatlesexaminer.podbean.com/e/things-we-said-today-96-author-luca-perasi-on-mccartneys-recording-career/
