THE NEXT DELUXE/REMASTERED ALBUM FROM PAUL
-
I know there was a little uncertainty a few pages back about whether Tug Of War / Pipes Of Peace really are the next reissues, but I just got the Q magazine with Paul on the cover, and the article specifically mentions Tug Of War being remastered, as the interview takes place in Hog Hill Mill, which is Paul's studio out in the country. There are references to listening to a section of "Ballroom Dancing" over and over, and just the basic fact of the album being remastered. It doesn't mention Pipes Of Peace, but that's what was "teased" in the card included with the last reissues, so I'm assuming that's still on track, too.

I've read that too. If the remastering still was going on during that interview, it probably take a while before the release. Still hoping for a release this year.

I have read that Giles Martin was in charge of the remastering of Tug and Pipes. I think at least it is 2-3 years since I read it. It takes longer to recycle the records than it took to create them.

I hope we hear some news soon on Tug Of War and Pipes Of Peace Archive releases. The waiting hurts.

This is the official release schedule... Ad hoc. :

Unfortunately.

I'd love a stack now listening to. "Tug of War" / "Pipes of Peace". Perfect summer pop with great songs. "London Town" / "Back to the Egg", which is a bit more musically adventurous.
-
I've been finding the original LPs of these albums and listening to them and it just makes me wish they'd say "the next batch is coming!"

I finally read the May 2015 Q Magazine article on Paul (the interview was done in March at his East Sussex studio) and it mentioned that the recording engineer was in the process of remastering Tug Of War (right there during the interview) The journalist said Paul was giving instructions about Ballroom Dancing.

That gives me some hope. Maybe we'll see them this fall.

Awesome!.... I love Ballroom Dancing.... One of the few times he has let his voice rip since 1980.

SAVING MONEY NOW!!
-
I'll probably pass on POP however it's marginally better than "Back to the Egg & Wild Life"
-
Cant wait for the TOW deluxe treatment. Hearing masters of the 2 separate songs that made up The Pound is Sinking is worth the price of admission. Also, Wanderlust with the electric guitar mix would be a treat.
-
Looking forward to this release!

It'll be fun. I'm a fan of both albums. It's like two sides of the same coin. September 18...
