MP3? What's that? Sorry, but old school here. Ha. Still play McCartney on my Pioneer turntable I bought in Korea in 1976.
Same here! I bought my turntable in 1974! Can't remember the brand offhand - will have to check tomorrow.
You don't know what an MP3 is either?
Yeah, I do. I never had an iPod though. I have music downloaded on my laptop and iPad. And a lot I can access through iTunes. I'm still old school and like to listen to CDs in my car.

Btw, my turntable is a Technics.
In my new car I can play cds but I can also put MP3s on a USB stick & play it . I have an older ipod but haven't used it for a couple of years because I usually just listen to oldie stations & classic vinyl stations on Sirius radio.

Nowadays I'm lucky if I'm in my car more than 20 minutes a week! I filled the tank in March I think and still have about 1/3 of a tank! I bought my car Jan. 20th and I think I've only put a little over 300 miles on it since then!

Flaming Pie - The World Tonight
Rough Mix
Home Recording
How great is youtube! For example, if you listen to the great "Home Recording" of World Tonight above...just look at the "what's next" list of songs you can easily hear. Not just some of Paul's hit songs, you can hear great non album songs like Home Tonight, In a Hurry, 60 Second Street, Looking At You, all the other great Flaming Pie songs and other great album cuts like Winter Rose/Love Awake, Arrow Through Me, etc etc. I spent about an hour this morning hearing all these great songs and how much did it cost me...Zero.

$600 for the collector's edition is just too much, like the Egypt Station suitcase. I'll wait for the price of the deluxe edition to drop a little.
Honestly $260 US Amazon is crazy expensive for the regular deluxe edition compared to past deluxe editions, and probably about double that of the most expensive ones to date. While I'm sure it is full of beautiful things, I mostly want the music and video, and $260 is an obscene amount of money for 5 CDs and 2 DVDs.
It's $221 USD ($300 CND) at MusicVaultz (no tax, free shipping)
Do you have a link for this NancyR? Can't find it.

UDiscover was even cheaper but as of today it is sold out of the deluxe. But if you're interested in the other versions check them out.

Some of the warm happy love songs on "Egypt Station" would sound perfect had they been on "Flaming Pie," would have fit right in on that album, I think.

Pre-Archive/Remaster Flaming Pie Track by Track Song Ratings
I will keep this and see how my Track by Track Song Ratings change after we hear the new Archive Edition
1 to 10 Ratings with 10 being the best
1. The Song We Were Singing (8) - A little repetitiious but still a good opener
2. The World Tonight (9.5) - A great rocker with excellent guitar work
3. If You Wanna (9) - I like this better than some fans but I like the overall feel; gives a nice 70's Eagles (the Group) country-rock sound.
4. Somedays (10) - the first 10 Flaming Pie song; love George Martin's strings production and I unlike some, I like Paul's lyrics here...A perfect song imo and if this was on a Beatles' album, it would be considered a masterpiece.
5. Young Boy (9) - very nice Pop song and great guitar work from Paul and Steve Miller
6. Calico Skies (10) - the next 10 on Flaming Pie imo. Great acoustical number and thank God Paul played this a lot on his tours. I've always thought that Paul's guitar work is very underrated.
7. Flaming PIe (7) good album track but not one of the better songs on FP imo.
8. Heaven On a Sunday (9) terrific album track and very nice guitar work between Paul and his Son James.
9. Used to be Bad (7.5) good album track and I like it better than many Paul fans. Good bluesy number but a little too plain for Paul.
10. Souvenir (9.5) the most underrated song on FP. Love it when Paul goes R&B and Soul.
11. Little Willow (10) my 3rd 10 on FP imo. Great song and another Paul Solo song that if on a Beatles' album would be considered a masterpiece
12. Really Love You (5) obviously my least favorite song on FP and just my opinion. I'm not a fan of "jam" songs in general and this one just seems to go on way too long. Still has some nice bluesy music lines. It's the one song I would have left off for another non-album track. I just imagine if Paul would have added "On the Wings of a Nightingale" on FP instead of this track.
13. Beautiful Night (10) my last perfect 10 track on FP imo. Just a great vocal by Paul and its another great melodic piano number. I also love Ringo's singing at the end.
14. Great Day (9)) Another very underrated track on FP. Loved Linda's harmony work on Great Day.
As I said, I will be very curious to see if any of my ratings are altered after hearing the new Archive/Remaster.

Only he'll have slightly less than enough money when he gets billed for it.

I still haven't heard anything from MusicVaultz or UDiscover. Hope they cancel the orders soon! (and UDiscover needs to credit my card - MV never charged me) I only want one deluxe Flaming Pie, not 3 of them!
